The maneki-neko (Japanese: 招き猫, literally "beckoning cat") is a common Japanese figurine (lucky charm, talisman) which is often believed to bring good luck to the owner.

Japanese consumers would like to learn how to used things according to manual. The n=manual play bigger role in Japanese culture than other western world. To be success in Japan, you need to explain everything, I guess Japanese people would not like to think ... they just follow manual.
