ようやくシアトルの西の空にも日没を観測できるほど天候が良くなりました。
毎日雨が続いた冬の季節が過ぎ去り春がやってきた印です。
今回初めて気がつきましたが、日没地点はオリンピック山脈の南の端に乗っかっています。
冬至の頃は山脈から大分離れた南にありました。
夏になると山脈の中央地点からさらに北側に移動して行きます。
日暮れ時には夕焼け空となり、日中には青い空が見えるっていいもんですね〜。
話が飛躍しますが、昨今の大河ドラマで渋沢栄一は高い山に登りその頂上から拳を高く青空に突き上げたシーンがありました。
これは渋沢自身が書き残している文書から再現したもので、ドラマのタイトル「青天を衝け」は、そこから引用している事がそこから初めて判明。
商人として顧客先との信頼関係、お目当ての女性との結婚、そして江戸へ修行に出ることも間近に許されて、まさに天を駆け上って行くような渋沢の勢い。
渋沢個人の世界がそのような上り調子でも、世間一般は真逆であって黒い闇に覆われたような不透明世界。
ペリーから大砲で開国を迫られ、ハリスから通商を強引に求められ、さらに将軍継嗣問題が絡んで混沌とした世界。
翻弄される徳川慶喜と希望の中に輝いたように見える渋沢栄一との対比が、ドラマの見どころだと思います。
コロナ禍によって先行きの見えない混乱した世界の中に置かれた私たちに、「晴天を衝け」とは、何ともチャレンジ溢れるタイトルです。
The weather has finally improved enough for us to observe the sunset in the western sky of Seattle.
It's a sign that the winter season with its constant rain has passed and spring has arrived.
For the first time, I noticed that the sunset point is on the southern edge of the Olympic Mountains.
At the time of the winter solstice, it was much farther south apart from the mountain range.
In the summer, it moves further north from the center of the mountain range.
It's nice to see the sunset sky at nightfall and the blue sky during the day.
This is a leap of faith, but there was a scene in a recent historical drama where Eiichi Shibusawa climbed a high mountain and raised his fist high into the blue sky from the top.
This scene was recreated from a document written by Shibusawa himself, and the title of the drama, "Sei Ten wo Tsuke," was taken from the document.
As a merchant, Shibusawa is on the verge of a relationship of trust with his customers, marriage to the woman of his dreams, and soon to be allowed to go to Edo for his training.
Even though his personal world was on the upswing, the world at large was the complete opposite, shrouded in blackness and uncertainty.
Perry pressured Japan to open it’s country with cannons, and Harris pushed for trade, and the issue of the succession to the shogunship added to the chaos.
One of the highlights of the drama is the contrast between Yoshinobu Tokugawa, who was annoyed in the center of Japanese government, and Eiichi Shibusawa, who seems to be shining with hope.
The title of the drama, "Sei Ten wo Tsuke" which means rising sky-high, is full of challenge for those of us who have been placed in the midst of a confusing world with an uncertain future due to the Corona disaster.

イースターおめでとうございます。
2つのうさぎの置物と日本人形とを娘とともに受け取った帰り道、ある交差点で家族連れと思われる4-5人がプラカードを掲げていました。
そのサインボードには
「主イエスは蘇れた」と記されてあったのです。
娘とそれを見て大喜び。
クラクションを何度も鳴らして賛同を表明した次第です。
もし主イエスが死を克服されてよみがえられなければ、人生はなんと虚しいものでしょうか。人が死んだらそれっきりで、おしまい。
しかし実に主はよみがえられたのです。
私たちに死を克服する永遠の希望を与えられました。
Happy Easter!
On the way home from receiving the two rabbit figurines and a Japanese doll with my daughter, we saw 4-5 people, probably a family, holding up placards at an intersection.
The signboard read, "The Lord Jesus is Risen.”
My daughter and I were overjoyed to see it.
We honked our horn several times to show our support.
How empty life would be if the Lord Jesus had not overcome death and risen from the dead. When a person dies, that's it, everything is over.
But indeed, the Lord has risen.
He has given us eternal hope to overcome death.
受難週の金曜日を迎えました。
主イエスがこの日の朝9時に十字架にかけられたのです。
言うまでもなく約2000年前のエルサレムでの出来事。
さらに遡ること約2000年前、同じ場所で同様な出来事が行われようとしていました。
創世記22章に見る父アブラハムが、一子イサクを全焼のいけにえとして神に捧げた場面です。
ちょうど今朝の聖書箇所がこの創世記22章でした。
①「お父さん。火と薪はありますが、全燒のいけにえのための羊はどこにあるのですか」(7)
神の意思に従っているつもりでもわからないことがある。
不条理としか見ない場面に出くわすこともある。
そしてあまりの痛みにそれを回避したいと自然に願う。
完璧な人間性を具備されたイエスは、「この杯(十字架)を取り除いてください」と、その前夜に祈られた。
②「神ご自身が全焼のいけにえの羊を備えて下さるのだ」(8)
父のこの言葉を聞いてイサクの理性は納得できただろうか。
尚もわからないまま彼は山道を登り続ける。
現在のエルサレムの神殿の丘に至る道を。
やがて祭壇の上で縛られてナイフを喉に突き刺されるに至っても、イサクは質問、反論、抵抗をしない。
そこにあったのは信頼のみ。
イエスはかつて弟子たちに言われた。
「わたしがしていることは、今はあなた方にわからないが、後でわかるようになります」(ヨハネ13:7)
③「主の山の上には備えがある」(14)
神のひとり子主イエスの犠牲によって、私の救いと全世界の回復のための備えが完成した。
それはまだ目に見える形では完成していない。
「備えがある」と信じたアブラハムには目に見えなくても現実であったように、神の御言葉に日々教えられているものには現実のことでもある。
イサクは父に信頼し、その意思に従うことを通じて新しく神を経験するに至っている。
アブラハムにとっての最大の試練は、彼に神の性質が知らされた最大の出来事でもあった。
神とは、どういうお方なのか。
私たちの生涯は、神のご性質に触れるための学科であり、
わからないことをの中を、信頼を持って登っていく道筋である。
We have reached the Friday of Passion Week.
The Lord Jesus was crucified at nine o'clock in the morning of this day.
Needless to say, it happened about 2000 years ago in Jerusalem.
About 2,000 years earlier, a similar event was about to take place in the same place.
This is the scene in Genesis 22 where Abraham, the father, offered his only son Isaac to God as a burnt sacrifice.
Just this morning's Bible verse for me was this Genesis 22.
1) "Father. We have fire and wood, but where are the sheep for the all-burnt sacrifice?(7)
There are times when we think we are following God's will, but we don't understand.
Sometimes we encounter situations that we see as absurd, and the pain is so great that we naturally wish to avoid it.
Jesus, in His perfect humanity, prayed the night before, "Remove this cup( cross) from me.”
(2) "God Himself will provide the sacrificial lamb for the whole burnt offering.(8)
I wonder if Isaac's reasoning was convincing when he heard these words of his father.
Still unsure, he continues to climb the mountain path.
He continued up the mountain road, which now led to the hill of the temple in Jerusalem.
Even when he is tied up on the altar and a knife is plunged into his throat, Isaac does not question, argue, or resist.
There was only trust.
Jesus once said to His disciples, "What I am doing, you do not understand now, but you will understand later" (John 13:7).
3) "There is provision on the mountain of the Lord" (14).
Through the sacrifice of God's only Son, the Lord Jesus, the provision for my salvation and the restoration of the whole world has been completed.
It is not yet completed in a visible way.
It is real to those who are taught daily in the Word of God, just as it was real to Abraham who believed that "provision is made," even though he could not see it.
Issac comes to experience God anew through trusting in his father and submitting to his will.
Abraham's greatest trial was also the greatest event in which the nature of God was made known to him.
What kind of person is God?
Our life is a lesson to get in touch with the nature of God, and a path to climb up with trust in the midst of what we don't know.
今日も魔女のお姉さん家に夕飯に招かれて行ってきました。
オンラインで仕入れたと言うキノコ型の食卓を楽しげに見せてくれました。この家は訪れるたびにトトロ世界に一歩ずつ近づいていってます。
良い天気に誘われて息子と湖で泳いでみました。
まだ水は冷たく、1-2分間しか入っていられません。
それでも、先月初泳ぎしたときには水は冷たいというより痛かったですので、水温はだいぶ上がったようです。
冷たい水から上がった後の爽快感は大きなボーナスです。
あの爽快感がやってくる仕組みについて、どうやら脳科学的に説明ができそうです。
それはノルアドレナリンと言う脳内ホルモンと関係しているようです。
これは緊張、恐怖、不安、などのストレスを抱えるときに放出されるホルモンで、脳機能や集中力、記憶力などが上がるそうです。
締め切り直前にやる気がアップして、宿題や仕事に向かうエネルギーが出てくるあのことと説明されています。
適度なストレスによって集中力を上げることができます。
冷たい水に短時間でも浸かれば身体に大きなストレスとなり、また肌の体感温度を急激に上下させると血行を促したり、代謝も促進させるとか。
ただしこのストレスが過ぎると、ノルアドレナリンは体を壊すことになりかねません。
「適度なストレス」というのが大切なキーワードのようです。
水から上がって魔女さん達の作る夕食は今日もストレスを和らげ、私どもを癒してくれました。
I was invited to the witch's sister's house for dinner again today.
She happily showed me her mushroom-shaped breakfast table that she bought online. Every time I visit this house, it gets one step closer to the Totoro world.
The weather was so nice that I took my son for a swim in the lake.
The water was still cold and we could only stay in it for a minute or two.
However, the water temperature seems to have risen a lot since my first swim last month, when the water was more painful than cold.
The refreshing feeling after getting out of the cold water is a big bonus.
There seems to be a brain science explanation for the mechanism that brings about that feeling of refreshment.
It seems to have something to do with a hormone in the brain called noradrenaline.
Noradrenaline is a hormone that is released when you are under stress such as tension, fear, anxiety, etc. It is said to increase brain function, concentration, and memory.
It is explained as a boost in motivation right before a deadline, giving you more energy to do your homework or work.
Moderate stress can increase your ability to concentrate.
Immersing yourself in cold water, even for a short period of time, will put a lot of stress on your body, and rapidly raising and lowering the temperature of your skin will stimulate blood circulation and metabolism.
However, if the stress is too much, the noradrenaline can damage the body.
“Moderate stress" seems to be an important keyword.
After getting out of the water, the witches made us a dinner as always that soothed our stress and healed us.
私は自分が興味の持てること、知りたいこと、やってみたい事に純粋にのめり込めば良いと考えている。誰しもが小学校1学年ぐらいまではそのような世界を生きていたはずだ。
特に日本では学校教育が進むにつれ、偏差値という物差しで型枠の中に人間を閉じ込めようとする作用が働いている。
製造業中心の大量生産社会なら、そのようにトレーニングされた人間は扱いやすい人材として重宝されてきた。
ところが、創造性の要求される情報化社会の行き着くところにおいては、求められる人財とはなり得ない。
もっと素直に自分がやってみたいと思う世界に逍遥してみることだ。その方がパフォーマンスが上がるし、モチベーションだって続く。学びの効果が加速するはずだ。
夕日を見ながら、その日のー日を息子と振り返る。
昨日はお互いがしたいことにのめり込んだ一日だった。
ゴールを設定しての一対一のサッカーゲーム。
パスを送る味方プレイヤーがいない中で、常に全力疾走を続けた約30分間。
これほど集中力を持続出来た時間はなかったと思う。
それで、どのような効果や結果を得たか？
先週のそのゲームでは、私の左ふくはらぎが肉離れを起こして歩くのが困難になった。
今回は腹筋が筋肉痛を起こして、今朝ベッドから起き上がるのが困難だった。
素晴らしい収穫を得たと考えている。
I believe that you should be genuinely absorbed in what you are interested in, what you want to know, and what you want to do. I believe that everyone should live in such a world until the first grade of elementary school.

As I watched the sunset, I reflected on the day with my son.
Yesterday was a day where we were both absorbed in what we wanted to do.
A game of one-on-one soccer with a goal set.
For about 30 minutes, we ran as fast as we could, with no one on our side to pass to.
I don't think I've ever been able to stay so focused in my life.
So what kind of effect or result did I get?
In that game last week, my left calf suffered a separation that made it difficult to walk.
This time, my abdominal muscles were so sore that I had trouble getting out of bed this morning.
I think I got a great harvest.
いったい桜の季節は天候が安定せず、雨や曇りの日が多いのは日本ばかりでなくワシントン州も同様です。
本日、雨が止んで少々日が射した瞬間を狙って自宅近所を散歩しました。
日本から植林されたソメイヨシノが住宅地のあちこちにも広がりを見せています。
満開になったその瞬間から散り始める桜。
花見のできる穏やかで快晴に恵まれる機会の少ない3月.....
これだけの希少価値が揃ってるだけに人気があるんでしょうかね。
年中いつでも見ることができる花を人が愛でることはないでしょう。
細川ガラシャ夫人の辞世の句を思い出します。
『散りぬべき 時知りてこそ 世の中の 花も花なれ 人も人なれ』。
人であれ花であれ、散るその時をわきまえてこそ美しい、そのような意味。
The weather is not stable during the cherry blossom season, and there are many rainy and cloudy days not only in Japan but also in Washington State.
Today, I took a walk around my neighborhood, aiming for the moment when the rain stopped and the sun shone a little.
Someiyoshino trees planted came from Japan are spreading all over the residential areas.
The cherry blossoms begin to fall the moment they reach full bloom.
March, a month with few opportunities for calm and clear weather for cherry blossom viewing.....
I wonder if they are popular just because they have such a rare combination of values.
People will never love a flower that can be seen at any time of the year.
It reminds me of a poem by Christian Hosokawa Galasha:

「大祭司キリスト」
ヘブル人への手紙 5章1～10節
"大祭司はみな、人々の中から選ばれ、人々のために神に仕えるように、すなわち、ささげ物といけにえを罪のために献げるように、任命されています。
大祭司は自分自身も弱さを身にまとっているので、無知で迷っている人々に優しく接することができます。
また、その弱さのゆえに、民のためだけでなく、自分のためにも、罪のゆえにささげ物を献げなければなりません。
また、この栄誉は自分で得るのではなく、アロンがそうであったように、神に召されて受けるのです。
同様にキリストも、大祭司となる栄誉を自分で得たのではなく、「あなたはわたしの子。わたしが今日、あなたを生んだ」と語りかけた方が、それをお与えになったのです。
別の箇所でも、「あなたは、メルキゼデクの例に倣い、とこしえに祭司である」と言っておられるとおりです。
キリストは、肉体をもって生きている間、自分を死から救い出すことができる方に向かって、大きな叫び声と涙をもって祈りと願いをささげ、その敬虔のゆえに聞き入れられました。
キリストは御子であられるのに、お受けになった様々な苦しみによって従順を学び、
完全な者とされ、ご自分に従うすべての人にとって永遠の救いの源となり、
メルキゼデクの例に倣い、神によって大祭司と呼ばれました。"

「生んだ」とは生存の始まりを意味する言葉ではなく、祭司としての職務を開始せられたこと。
死、復活、昇天、着座を完成させることによる。
(2)受肉された大祭司
①「人としてこの世におられた」= 100%の肉体をもたれた人間
叫び声と涙を持って祈らなくてはならない苦しみを通られた
②キリストが受けられたたった1つの学科＝「従順」
7段階の謙卑の後(ピリピ3:6-8)、最後は十字架の死。
⑶完成された大祭司
①キリストにあるすべてのものを救う大祭司
イエスの名は、霊界人間界外界(ピリピ2:9-10)のあらゆる存在の上にある
②メルキぜデクの位に等しい=永久に祭司職を遂行できる方(ヘブル7:3)
(結論)
キリストが完全な救いを与える大祭司であると聞いて、私たちの耳にどのように響いているか。
もし試練や苦しみを通っているとしたならば、それは主からの訓練と従順を学ぶ機会であろう。
その先には、高揚と栄光とを備えて下さっておられる。
シアトルにも春がやってきました。

Akemiの日本舞踊の師匠である大野メリー先生が地元コミュニティ新聞の一面を飾っています。
彼女の父君が終戦直後の日本で約10年間、「カムカムエブリバディー」と言うラジオ英語放送で一生を風靡したのです。
その彼とご家族の様子がこの秋からNHK朝の連続テレビ小説で取り上げられることになっています。
お父様の平川氏役には、さだまさしさんが抜擢されたそうです。昨日あたり日本で発表されたようですので、ここでも公表してしまって良いかと思います。もし違っていたら読まなかったことにしておいて下さい。笑。
歌手のさだまさしさんて俳優の経験あるんでしょうか？英語を話せるのでしょうか？
平川氏の写真を見るに、確かに姿骨格は似ていらっしゃいますよね。
娘がメリー先生に師事してからすでに約4ヶ月ほどが経ちます。なんだかすごい先生に当たってしまったみたいですね。
現在75歳のメリー先生はあと10年間は続けたいとおっしゃっておられるので、今後とも娘をビシビシとやまとなでしこに鍛え上げていただきたいです。
余談ですが、正面のメリー先生と愛猫の三平ちゃんの写真は私が撮りました。この三平ちゃんは大のいたずら好きで時に私の足を引っ掻いてきます。
稽古中にウロウロするものだからメリー先生からは、「三平、ウロウロすると三味線の皮にしちゃうわよ」なんて声も飛び交っています。
Akemi's Japanese dance teacher, Mary Ohno, is on the front page of the local community newspaper.
Mary’s father was a radio broadcaster in Japan right after the end of the war, and for about 10 years he dominated the country with his radio show "Come Come Everyday".
The story of him and his family will be featured in an NHK morning TV series starting this fall.
Mr. Masashi Sada has been chosen to play the role of his father, Mr. Hirakawa. It seems to have been announced yesterday in Japan, so I think it's okay to announce it here as well. If I'm wrong, please pretend you didn't read it. LOL.
I wonder if the singer Masashi Sada has any experience as an actor? Does he speak English?
Looking at Mr. Hirakawa's photo, he certainly have a similar figure structure.
It's already been about four months since my daughter has been studying with Mary-sensei. It seems that she has found a great teacher.
Mary-sensei, who is now 75 years old, has said that she would like to continue her teaching for another 10 years, so I hope she will continue to train my daughter to be a Yamato Nadeshiko.
As a side note, I took the picture of Mary Sensei and her cat Sanpei in the front. Sanpei is very mischievous and sometimes scratches my feet.
She sometimes scratches my feet, and because she wanders around during lessons, Mary-sensei often says to her, "Sanpei, if you keep wandering around, you'll end up with shamisen skin.”
息子のストリートまで行ってきました。
彼のミドルネームがモントゴメリーといいます。
ここの通りで仕事をしている私の友人がカリフォルニア・グラントに当選して5000ドルを得たと教えてくれました。
グラントですから返済不要の約50万円ほどの臨時収入を得たことになります。
カリフォルニア州に住所のある人なら誰でも応募できて、予算が許される限り抽選で選ばれるのです。
それでも昨年1年間で約2万ドルの減収ですから、喜んでばかりはいられないとのこと。
実は私もワシントン州でのグラントに応募したのですが、何もお知らせがないので落選したんだろうと思います。
中華街入り口にあるドラゴンゲートの側にあるレストランでランチを摂りました。
シアトルと違ってこうして僅かながらも店内営業してるレストランがあるのは助かります。
I went to my son's street.
His middle name is Montgomery.
A friend of mine who works on this street told me that he won a California Grant of $5,000.
Since it's a grant, it's an extra income of about 500,000 yen that doesn't have to be repaid.
Anyone with an address in California can apply for the grant, and it is chosen by lottery as long as the budget allows.
Even so, he can't be all that happy about it, since the revenue decreased by about $20,000 over the last year.
Actually, I also applied for a grant in Washington State, but I haven't heard anything about it, so I guess I was not selected.
I had lunch at a restaurant by the Dragon Gate at the entrance to Chinatown.
Unlike Seattle, it's nice to have a few restaurants like this that are open for indoor.
