I had a coaching session in English today. It was the first time to conduct the session in English in my life.
I was a bit nervous about conducting the session because English is not my native language, and I am not entirely confident in interactive coaching communication in English.
Could my over 300 hours "Japanese" coaching experience help me during the session?
The answer was YES. The concern was completely alleviated right after the session.
Because, like in Japanese, I simply followed the client, picked up on some keywords, and then created some questions—just in English.
My limited vocabulary could still help me formulate simple questions.
It took about an hour, and I felt it was a very short time.
It was a valuable experience for me.
