いつもはGOODとしか言わない彼が、今回はその上にVERYをくっつけてくれたのです！
夕食評価としてはアッパー&ミドル•クラスだそうです。
その後は米国で流行っていると言う中国を舞台としたアニメを共に視聴したことによって、アッパー&アッパーに位上げしてくれました。
昨日に続いて今夕もきれいな夕焼け空をどうぞ。
日没から15分後ぐらいに、数百の鳥たちが飛び交わしている瞬間に出会いました。これから彼らはどんな寝ぐらに向かってるんでしょう。
I made my first broccoli soup using a recipe I passed down from my vegan daughter and gave my son a taste of it.
He usually only says GOOD, but this time he was able to stick VERY much on top of it!
As far as dinner ratings go, it's upper and middle-class he gave evaluation.

This evening, the sky was beautiful as it was yesterday.
About 15 minutes after sunset, we came upon a moment when hundreds of birds were flying across. I wonder where they are going to sleep.
数ヶ月ぶりとなったでしょうか、シアトルでの日の入り定点観測。
これまでは厚い雲に空が閉ざされて、一向にお日様が見えなかったのです。
本日も日輪は見えないながらも、赤く染まった雲を楽しませてくれました。
春夏の澄み切った空の時期にはゴージャスな日の入りを毎日楽しんでいて、この程度の夕焼けなんて数にも入らなかった事でしょう。
しかし毎日が雨と暗い空に閉ざされている現在、たったこれでも見事な大自然の造形美に感動で来ます。
人間って、基本的に贅沢な生きもののようです。
この感謝祭休暇を利用して娘は再びカリフォルニアへのロードトリップに出かけました。
本日はオレゴン州の海岸の様子を写真で送ってきました。
自宅近くのシアトルにある海岸と大して変わらないように見受けられます。
片道20時間近くをドライブするよりも、家でくつろぎながら写真を見せてもらえば、自分自身が彼らの見ている大自然の中に置かれていると想像してしまえば良いと思うのです。
これもまた大変贅沢な人間の有り様かなと。

Thick clouds had been blocking the sky, and the sun hadn't been visible at all.
Today, the sun's ring is not visible, but I can still enjoy the reddish clouds.
I enjoy gorgeous sunsets every day during the clear skies of spring and summer, and a sunset of this magnitude today would not have counted.
But now, when every day is stuck in rain and dark skies, I am impressed by the beauty of the natural sky of this one, too.
Humans, it seems, are basically a luxurious creature.
Over this Thanksgiving break, my daughter once again went on a road trip to California.
Today, she sent me some photos of the Oregon coast.
It doesn't look much different than the coast in Seattle, which is near my home.
Rather than drive nearly 20 hours one way, I think it's better to imagine yourself being placed in the wilderness as they see it, when they show me the photos from the comfort of my home.
It's also a very luxurious human condition, Isn’t it?
米国ノースウエストは典型的な晩秋の空模様に突入しています。
毎日パラパラと小雨が降り、日照時間は1日の合計で数十分ほどしかありません。
そんなことで今まで皆さんに紹介してきた夕焼けもすっかりと影を潜めてしまい、お見せすることができないのです。
こちらが立たずば、あちらが立つ。
押してダメなら引いてみよ。
そんなことを考えながら、何か楽しめるものはないかなぁと日々探しています。
今日の午後、裏庭に散らかっている落ち葉を履いている息子を発見しました。あの緑の葉がこんな艶やかな黄色に変色するのにはいつもながら驚きます。
親に言われたでもないのに自主的に庭掃除に精を出している息子の成長ぶりにも驚きです。
その後彼とともに近所のトレイルを散策しました。
雨のやんだ頃を見計らってなるべく外出し、散歩を欠かさないようにしています。
「犬も歩けば棒に当たる」
今から10年ほど前、2人の甥たちが夏休みを利用して日本から遊びに来ていた時、我が家では毎日のようにいろはかるたをした。
我が子たちを日本語に慣れさせる下心もありありだったけど。
我が子たちにはつたない英語で翻訳し、また小学生の甥っ子たちにはやさしい日本語でカルタの意味を解説した。
有名ないろはかるたの最初に出てくるのが、「犬も歩けば棒に当たる」
その意味を小学5年生の甥っ子は、「犬でも外に出ると棒にぶつかっちゃうからおとなしくしていたほうが良いと言う意味でしょ？」と聞いてきた。
私は「多分これはとにかく外に出れば棒を見つけられると言う意味ではないかな？犬は棒を加えるのが好きでしょ」なんて答えておいた。
本当のところはどうなんだろうと思ってその後10年経った今日、調べてみると両方の意味が載ってあった。
かるたが作られた江戸時代の当初の意味は、甥っ子たちの意味で使われたらしい。ただ昨今では私の意味で解釈されることが多くなったと説明してあった。
本日散歩の途中に可愛らしいワンチャンに追いかけられてこのことを思い出し、辞書で調べてみた次第です。
「犬も歩けば棒に当たる」の２つの意味
①あまり出しゃばった行動をすると、思わぬ災難に会う
②何か行動を起こせば、思ってもいないような幸運に巡り合える
ヴィーガンの娘の指導を受けながら初めて自力で作ったヴィーガン野菜スープ。
オーブンでベイクした野菜をさらにフライパンの上でソテーし、そして最終的にブレンダーにかけると言う手間のかかる調理。
ついでにブレンダーを使ったのも初めてのこと。
うーん、数週間前に彼らから振る舞ってもらったスープと遜色のない出来栄えのように感じた。
自作故の引け目になっている可能性ありかも。
知らんけど。
This was the first vegan vegetable soup I made on my own with the guidance of my vegan daughter.
It's a time-consuming process of baking the vegetables in the oven, sautéing them further on a pan, and finally putting them in a blender.
In addition, this is the first time I've used a blender.
Hmmm, it felt as good as the soup they had served me a few weeks ago.
Maybe it's possible that it's a homemade drawback.
I don't know.

今日の夕焼けの画面はいつもよりちょっぴりクリアに見えませんか？
新しいiPhoneに今日から切り替えたのでした。
今までは1つの目(カメラレンズ)でしたが今日からは3つ目となりました。
故障さえしなければ近い倒すつもりでしたが、ウィルスが入ったらしくパワーがオンにならないままに死亡してしまったのです。
アップルショップはソーシャルディスタンスを保つと言うことで入店制限があり、修理のアポが来週にならないと取れないのです。
1週間を携帯電話なしで過ごすことはできません。
しかし携帯電話なし、インターネットなしで過ごしたこの二日間はデジタル・デトックスの良い機会となりました。
SNSでの友人とのやりとりできず、YouTubeでの音楽やセミナーを視聴できず、もちろんメールやメッセージのやり取りもできない数年ぶりの二日間。
夜更かしせずに早く床についたため朝起きができて朝活には申し分なかった。
携帯に支配されずこれをコントロールするにはまだまだ大きな知恵が必要です。

I switched to a new iPhone today.
I've had one eye (camera lens), but from today it's my third eyes.
I was going to beat it close if it didn't break down, but it seemed to have a virus and died without power on.
The Apple store has a restriction on entry because they say they will keep a social distance, and I can't get an appointment for repairs until next week.
I can't go a week without my cell phone.
But those two days spent without a cell phone and without the internet have been a great opportunity for a digital detox.
Two days for the first time in years without being able to communicate with friends on social media, watch music or seminars on YouTube, and of course, no emails or messages.
I didn't stay up late and got to the bed early so I could get up in the morning, which was perfect for my morning activities.
There is still a great deal of wisdom to be gained in controlling this without being dominated by my iPhone.

どんよりとした曇り空のときには、いつもなら心までもどんよりするのですが、今朝だけがウキウキしちゃいました。
