It is raining again in Tokyo ... no all over Japan because of the typhoon #18 coming from the south. This picture was take from the 26th floor of our prospect company.
I am in Tokyo ... one of the largest cities in the world with the population of 12 million. The currency exchange is about 90 yen to an US$1. Which means yen is very strong. Even with that strong yen, you can have this lunch for 750 yen, or about $8.25. There is no tipping in Japan. So that is what you pay. It is a great meal ... if you like fish.
I have a business trip to Japan starting tomorrow. The current exchange rate is about 90 Yen to US$1. Yen is very strong. This makes a can of Coke (120 yen) $1.33 equivalent. Hotel (New Otani, Tokyo) is about $255 which is not bad compared to hotels in New York.
Our company watch exchange rate very carefully because over 50% of revenue comes in Japanese yen. Higher Yen is not good for may travel, but it is good for my company.
