Late Sunday Lunch at Redmond Town Center

スレッド

Today I had lunch at Matt’s Oyster House in Redmond Town Center around 2:30 in the afternoon. At that hour, the place was quiet, and I could really enjoy the atmosphere along with my appetizers.

One of the nice things about Matt’s is that they have happy hour all day on Sundays. I ordered the Vietnamese beef skewers, which were very tasty. The portion was on the smaller side, but for me, that was just right—enough to enjoy without feeling too heavy.

Afterward, I stopped by Panera Bread for a simple iced coffee and some French bread. It was a nice way to round out the afternoon.

Since tomorrow is a holiday, our company will be closed. That gave today a relaxed feeling—like the perfect way to ease into a long weekend.

I wanted buy this in 1987 ... I could not.

I wanted buy this in 1987 ... ...
On March 1, 1985, Apple released a groundbreaking printer called the LaserWriter. At the time, it was priced at an astonishing $6,995—equivalent to about $20,450 in today’s money (2024).

The LaserWriter changed the world of office printing. It was one of the first printers to adopt laser technology, powered by a Motorola 68000 processor (12 MHz) with 1.5 MB of memory. With a resolution of 300 dpi and a speed of 8 pages per minute, its performance was revolutionary for the mid-1980s.

What truly set the LaserWriter apart was its networking capability. With AppleTalk and LocalTalk support, multiple Macintosh computers could print to the same device over a network. This was a game-changer, since most printers at the time could only connect directly to a single computer. The LaserWriter dramatically improved office workflow and played a pivotal role in the rise of desktop publishing (DTP).

Of course, this innovation came with trade-offs. The machine weighed a hefty 35 kg (77 lbs), consumed 760 watts of power, and was far too expensive for home users. Instead, it found its place in businesses, design studios, and publishing houses where its speed and print quality justified the cost.

Though discontinued on February 1, 1988, the LaserWriter remains a symbol of a turning point in personal computing history. It transformed printers from simple peripherals into essential business tools and paved the way for the modern desktop publishing revolution.

When we compare it to today’s compact, affordable, and feature-packed printers, it’s hard not to marvel at how far technology has come in just a few decades.

Today, I unpacked and install Canon GX 6120 ... It costed 1/15 of the price of LaserWriter.

We the people ....
Did you know that at PSPINC, we proudly display and give away copies of the United States Constitution? We believe this document is the foundation of the freedoms and opportunities that allow businesses like ours to exist and grow.

As an immigrant myself, I truly appreciate what the United States has enabled me to do. The Constitution guarantees the rights and freedoms that made it possible for me to build a company, create jobs, and pursue ideas that might not have been possible elsewhere.

By sharing this document, we hope to encourage more people to read, understand, and value the principles that shape this country—and to remember that these freedoms are what make innovation and entrepreneurship thrive.

Tattoos and Japan

スレッド
Tattoos and Japan
Do you know why tattoos are often rejected in Japan? The reason goes back to the Edo period. At that time, tattoos were not fashion or art — they were used as a form of punishment.

If someone committed a crime, a line was tattooed on their arm to show a first offense. A second offense added another line, usually crossing the first, so people could see the criminal record at a glance. But you never saw a third line. Why? Because by the third conviction, criminals were often sentenced to death, meaning no one lived to carry a third mark.

Because of this history, tattoos became deeply associated with crime and social shame. Later, in the modern era, the yakuza adopted full-body tattoos as part of their identity, which made the connection between tattoos and organized crime even stronger.

That’s why even today, many public places in Japan — such as hot springs, swimming pools, and gyms — still restrict people with tattoos. The tattoos themselves aren’t “bad,” but the cultural history and lingering social perception have shaped a unique Japanese attitude toward them.

Who Is Your Audience?

スレッド
Who Is Your Audience?
Who Is Your Audience?

If you advertise on TV, in newspapers, or even on YouTube and gaming platforms, you are making a clear assumption: your target customers are the kind of people who sit around watching television, flipping through print, binge-watching online videos, or spending hours inside virtual worlds. But is that really your audience?

Every advertising channel does more than just cost money—it sends a message about who you believe your customers are. When you buy a TV spot, you’re assuming they’re sitting on the couch waiting for commercials. When you place a newspaper ad, you’re betting they’re flipping through pages looking for you. When you pay for pre-roll ads on YouTube or pop-ups inside games, you’re assuming they’re passively stuck there until your message gets through.

But let’s be honest—are those the people you want to reach? Or are your real customers more active? Are they the ones making decisions, searching for information, comparing options, networking, and building relationships in real time?

The truth is, advertising is not just about visibility. It’s about alignment. You have to meet your audience where they actually spend their meaningful time and attention—not where it’s most convenient for you to place an ad. If your customers are digital decision-makers, then throwing money into TV, print, video pre-rolls, or in-game ads may not only be expensive, it may be entirely misdirected.

The best marketing happens when your message connects with your customers’ behavior and lifestyle. It’s not about chasing them where you hope they might be—it’s about showing up where they already are.

News from Japan ... You may not know.

スレッド
News from Japan ... You may no...
Japan Post has recently faced a major setback after losing its trucking operation license. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism discovered that the company had failed to carry out required safety roll calls and alcohol checks for drivers. As a result, about 2,500 of its trucks and vans have been grounded for the next five years.

This isn’t about blood testing, as some rumors suggested, but rather about neglecting basic safety protocols that every transportation company in Japan is expected to follow. For a national organization like Japan Post, the consequences are huge—not only for its logistics operations, but also for its reputation. This case serves as a reminder of how crucial compliance and safety management are in maintaining public trust.

NO SUPPORT FOR CCP

スレッド
NO SUPPORT FOR CCP
I will firmly oppose anyone who tries to say anything positive about China—whether it’s about their businesses, their environment, or their so-called “innovation.” If you truly believe that anything coming from China is good, then knowingly or not, you are participating in the propaganda of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

This is not a matter of opinion; it is about recognizing the reality of how the CCP controls narratives to manipulate international perception. Praising their actions, industries, or achievements only strengthens the very propaganda machine that seeks to rewrite truth and suppress freedom.

To admire or promote China without acknowledging the oppressive regime behind it is to act as an extension of their messaging. That is why I will continue to reject any attempt to portray China in a positive light, because doing so is nothing more than being complicit in advancing the CCP’s agenda.

PSPINC Provide Password Security at Application Level

A quantum computer doesn’t magically bypass things like login attempt limits, lockouts, or CAPTCHAs. Those are application-level and network-level defenses that stop an attacker long before they get to heavy math. Even if you had a huge quantum machine, if the system only allows 10 tries per minute, you’re still stuck with that limit.
