Instead of having people (your potential customers) type URL like http://www.pspinc.com/japanrelief on their smart phone, you can just present the QR Code like above and have them scan it. It is much easier than typing. No mistake either.

My email address was stolen from a store

Walgreens sent me an email telling me that the email address database was accessed without authorization. We do not work with Walgreens but we take those incidents very seriously. It is very unfortunate that there are people out there trying to hack into your system.

Recently, one of our web servers were attacked with malware (malicious software) and it was such a slow developing program that all our backup were affected as well. We had to shut down one server for a half a day to clean up malware from each and every file on that server. We worked all night to clean up all files.

I wish we are in the world with no malicious people, but that will be wishful thinking.

Elapsed Time Since the Earthquake

It has been almost 25 days since the 9.0 earthquake in Japan. Still the images coming out of Japan are sad and devastated. Also, we have not seen any major improvement in the handling of nuclear power plants.

If you like cars, you have heard of Griot's Garage. Well, I went to their flagship store in Tacoma on Saturday to purchase some of the things I wanted for my 1959 Mercedes Benz. I was really impressed with their operations and their display. I am looking forward to working on my car with their stuff.

I stayed at New Otani in Tokyo and Intercontinental in Seoul. Both hotel has no free internet. Many cheaper business hotels provide free internet. Internet is such a basic service, all hotel should provide internet for free.

IMAP is coming!

PSPINC is developing IMAP Email Server for its http://www.dreamersi.com email hosting service. We just shifted all PSPINC email service from POP3 to IMAP last week for final phase of testing. IMAP enables multiple devices such as PCs and Cellular Phone to share one email box.

We are hoping to release IMAP service soon.

Outrage against TEPCO

There is an unconfirmed report that no employee of TEPCO (Tokyo Electric Power Company) is at Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant. Those called Fukushima 50 are contractors and sub contractors of TEPCO being paid 80,000 yen (little less than US$1,000) a day.

No government officials, politicians nor TEPCO employees including managements are at the site. This is the rumor that is running around Japan. This means all the near retirement TEPCO engineers called out to Fukushima were not true. And this is one of the reason why the Fukushima 50 are kept nameless.

That kind of BS operation is that?
I hope this in not true.
