I've planned a business trip to Japan to coincide with an event on November 2. This time, instead of my usual airline, I've decided to try Zipair, operated by Japan Airlines, for the first time. Since there aren't any flights from Seattle, I booked a round-trip ticket from Vancouver to Narita with a full-flat seat, which is the closest departure option. I added several options, including the ability to check in two bags, and the total cost came to around $2,850. It's quite affordable, right? However, since Zipair is not a full-service airline, you have to purchase meals and entertainment separately. But honestly, I'm just happy to have a full-flat seat where I can sleep comfortably. I've heard there's no in-flight entertainment system, so I'll be using my iPad during the flight. The rumor that Wi-Fi is free on Zipair is definitely a plus!

 

My next trip to Japan will be from September 4 to September 19, and I'll be flying with WestJet, another first for me, via Calgary to Narita. This ticket includes full service, and with insurance, it cost around $2,350. It's another very affordable business class ticket with a full-flat seat, so I'm looking forward to it. The only downside is the long layover in Calgary—5 hours on the way there and 7 hours on the way back. Even so, I'm excited and will report back on the experience. Lately, I've been putting a lot of effort into finding affordable tickets for trips to Japan.

 

Finding these budget-friendly tickets has become one of the highlights of my business trips to Japan.
