Pacific Software Publishing is a multicultural web and internet solutions company doing business in both the U.S. and
Japanese market.
PSP seeks a dedicated PHP web developer to join it's Web Team.
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
- 8+ years of professional experience developing web-based applications
- Extensive LAMP knowledge and experience with a revision control system
- Demonstrated proficiency in PHP and JavaScript
- Ability to write clean, coherent, and standards-compliant XHTML/CSS
- Strong understanding of software development life-cycle and best practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Create custom web solutions & support legacy websites
- Gather requirements and collaborate on technical requirements specifications
- Report project status, escalate/prioritize issues, and manage projects independently
Desired Skills (not required):
- Previous experience using CakePHP or any other web framework.
- Knowledge of good OO design principles in PHP, design patterns, or unit testing
- Knowledge of relational database concepts
- Japanese or other language skills
