You can have a very good lunch for $8 (1,000 yen) in Japan. If you try to save money, you can have Beef Bowl at Yoshinoya for about $3.50. In Seattle where I live, your lunch is about $15 ... Plus 10% Sales Tax ... Plus 20% Tip ... Now it is $19.50 ... That is more than double the pice of a good lunch in Japan.

You may say people make make less in Japan ... That might be true but the they do eat better than us for less. Everything costs too much in the US especially in the last few months.
