We have developed SPAM and Virus filtering system, which we have installed in our hosting environment for last few weeks. We have intentionally set the detection level low to make sure it does not stamp any valid email as SPAM. We have been slowly increasing the security level of this software.
Yesterday, we may have increased the security level too much. We have two resellers reported that we filtered out too much email and they would like to know what we did. Well, to make it more transparent, we have decided to start a blog explaining what exactly we are doing. I will let you know the blog address as soon as it becomes available.
We belong to a very prestigious business networking association called Seattle Executives Association (www.seattleexecs.org). There are 112 businesses around Seattle belonging to this organization and each company holds it own category (classification). The idea is not to step on other companys toes.
PSPINC held Web and Email Hosting and Programming classification since we joined in 2003. Today, the board approved to change our classification to Web and Email Outsourcing and Web Development. The Web Development was not in our classification because there was another company who held that classification. The company that held Web classification quit the association few months ago and the classification opened the door for us to apply.
Many people in the association knew that we develop Web site, but we could not talk about it. This make thing easier for us to explain what we do.
I attended Web Strategy Seminar just before Seattle Executives Association meeting hosted by PerSyst Consulting (persystconsulting.com) this morning. Because we build the web site, we know everything about blog. But the truth is we are learning about blog as much as any of us at Seattle Executives. Ben Griner (President of PerSyst Consulting) did a great job explaining how we can all use blog to assist our image on the net.
I have learned couple of new features to add to Bloguru.com that enable business users to enhance their blog. I will talk with our engineers about those features this afternoon.
Today, we had Seattle Executives Association meeting at Frix Technologies (www.imajnet.com). He talked about sales philosophy.
His company specializes in Document Scanning and Archiving.
It is made out of two words. MI (See) and Tsumori (Add). The idea is to see something and add the components for pricing. Yes, Mitsumori means Estimate in Japanese.
Mitsumori is an art rather than science. In Japan, Mitsumori often is a final price no matter what. So, if you somehow loose the control of the cost and over run your budget, you still have to honor your Mitsumori. That is the reason why someone who knows what he or she is doing should only do it.
It is true in PSPINC business practice. If we tell you what it costs, that is the price that you will be charged even when we screw up in estimate. If you every feel that you are over charged by PSPINC, please let me know personally. I will take care of it.
I belong to a group called eMarketing in Linked In. It sounded like an interesting group with over 100,000 members. But I found that there are just too many people and there is not much one company can do anything with it. Also, when you post something in the discussion, your thread will pushed down by so many posts everyday.
I think I will keep belonging to this group to just keep my eyes on it. Once in a while, there is something that I reply to. I think what this group is good for.
I dropped my everyday camera, Canon G10, and scratch the lens. Now I see darker spots on the LED. Although the images I am getting show no darker spots, I have decided to send it to Canon repair facility in Illinois.
I bought this camera last fall at Circuit City closing sale. It was well under anyone was (still is) selling. Now, without G10, I am carrying around Nikon D70 (my trusted digital SLR). It takes great pictures, but it is bulky.
Two things that I am hoping: (1) I hope I can get my G10 back soon: (2) I hope the repair does not cost too much.
My exercise is basically a round of golf in the weekend. I play 18 holes carrying a golf bag. A round takes about 4 to 5 hours. I played yesterday and shot 91. This is about the average I shoot now days.
It is a weekend again. I will be play golf at Aldarra today with my friends. Dogs are staying at home relaxing. This is a picture of Tiny last night

My friend just moved in to top floor penthouse suite in one of the new high riser building. I took picture from the balcony. You can actually look down from there. It is very scary standing so close t the edge.
