- Ken Uchikura Newsletter Vol. 334 Start by Listening to the Other Person
In business or your personal life, don't you think speaking is often the first step? But in fact, what’s truly important is to start by listening.
Throughout my career, I’ve met and built relationships with many people, and I’ve realized that trust comes from listening.
What do they think?
What are they struggling with?
What do they really need?
If you try to share your opinions or suggestions without knowing these things, customers will just think you’re being a pushy salesperson. On the other hand, if you try to listen carefully to what they’re saying and understand their thoughts and circumstances as to why they think that way, you’ll naturally find out what you should do.
At PSPINC, when working with new clients, we always start by listening.
That leads to gaining trust and building long-lasting relationships.
And this isn’t limited to just business.
It applies to family, friendships, and even within local communities—every part of life.
Listening may be a simple process, but it’s the most powerful and essential first step in getting closer to each other.
