What to consider when buying a computer
What kind of criteria do you use when buying a computer? I'm a Mac user, so I don't really look for specific models as long as it’s a Mac. But for PC users, there are a lot of manufacturers to choose from. When I was using a PC, I always used IBM. However, IBM no longer makes PCs.
Basically, all PCs that are sold today are made in China. Or all of the parts are made in China. You can’t really avoid this when buying a computer. Macs are also made in China and not made in the USA.
I don't think people choose PCs based on brand anymore. So, what does go into choosing a PC? In most cases, it probably has to do with what features come with it and price, so most people probably just pick the cheapest PC that can do everything they need it to do. I don't think that's wrong, but I do think there’s one more thing you should consider.
And that is support. If you buy a PC based on price and features alone, what will you do when you have a problem? If your machine breaks, you can always exchange it. But it’s useless if you don’t know how to set it up or use it. So, it’s probably a good idea to include this in your purchase criteria. No matter what kind of PC you buy, if you don’t know how to set it up and use it – it’s useless.
