Employees are not tools, but the law makes them so.
We are told that communication with employees is important, but problems arise when we try to communicate with them. Anything we talk about can be taken as “harassment” because of the position you are in within your company. This makes it difficult for managers to talk about anything other than work communication. How can you communicate with your employees in this type of situation?
It is normal to give up on the idea that it is possible to make friends within a company. So where do company managers look for friends? I'm sure many people would say family, but I think of my company and family separately. That's why I try not to talk about company matters at home. No matter how you look at it, being a manager of a company is a lonely existence.
This newsletter is read by many business owners. Are you able to make friends in your company? I have many employees whom I trust, but I have been told for more than 30 years that I need to keep a certain distance from them.
When this happens, I have no choice but to remain silent. Maybe that's why I don't talk much because I'm always thinking about this. The problem is that nowadays, any topic you choose, including politics, law, taxes, social movement, race, and discrimination (including non-discrimination) is off-limits. So what do you talk about? This came from the "Political Correctness" movement. I guess I better shut up now.

I wonder why they have changed the original logo. Is it a marketing decision? If so, why do they keep this original logo at the first store?

We had a problem, with our data center A/C system. PSR came and fixed it today. It is nice to have maintenance contract with PSR. If you own your own building, you should consider PSR to maintain your HVAC system.

Insane
If you do something different from everyone else, you are called insane. What exactly is common sense? Within a certain frame of reference, it is okay to do anything, but if you go outside of that frame for some reason, it is not okay. This way of thinking seems to get stronger as we get older. We think that because we have been doing things a particular way for a long time that there is no need to think of new and different ways.
This may mean that people are anxious about new things, but they also hate change. It's not that they don't like new things, it's that they don't want to change their current situation. I've always lived my life thinking, "Just try it out. If I can't do it, I'll just quit" - so I've tried everything. Of course, 80% of what I've done is probably a failure. Yet thanks to the 20% that succeeded, I am still able to continue my company.
My way of thinking is that I want to try the things that I want to do and see the results for myself, even if it is considered insane. Needless to say, when you start anything, you do it with the expectation that you will succeed. However, when you try something, you run into obstacles that you never thought you would. In some cases, the mechanism of overcoming those obstacles becomes the product itself. In hindsight, this provides many things to think about.
Insane ... isn't it interesting? If it doesn't bother others (or at most just a little) , you should try it. If you don't do something beyond the bounds of common sense, common sense won't grow.
