I was born in Japan and grew up watching countless American movies. Those films shaped my image of the United States long before I ever visited. Whenever I see a Harley-Davidson motorcycle cruising down the highway, or classic American muscle cars like the Pontiac Firebird or the Dodge Challenger—especially the one from the movie Vanishing Point—it instantly evokes that cinematic, iconic version of America I admired from afar.

The open road, the powerful machines, the sense of freedom and independence—that’s the America I imagined. This image captures all of that. It’s more than just a man on a motorcycle. It’s a moment that connects memory, imagination, and identity.
