Branding !!!

People do judge book by the c... People do judge book by the cover. Do not promote the content, p... Do not promote the content, promote the cover!!!
When you spend money marketing .. Your goal should not be try to sell one product ... rather you should try to create a brand image. One you are successful in creating recognizable brand, your marketing should be more effective and less costly.

Value Proposition

スレッド
Small Golf Balls ... Titelist Pro... Small Golf Balls ... Titelist Pro V1 at 1/3 off?
There are three things people think about when people think about value.

(1) Quality of Product
(2) Quality of Service
(3) Price

(1) & (2) are given. Nobody wants to buy anything that is bad or poor service. So, the main thing people think about value is the price. You need to work hard to make sure your product is price competitive. If not, you need to work harder.

My friend told me about the golf ball. Other than the logo, it feels like and act like Titleist Pro V1 but at 2/3 of the price. It even says that on their website.

SNELL GOLF MISSION STATEMENT

To bring tour caliber equipment to the amateur golfer at an affordable price.
Our experience in R&D along with our strategic manufacturing partnership and direct to consumer distribution model allows us to do just that.

How do you make your product stand out?

スレッド
How do you make your produc...
Why should customer choose you over your competitors? Have you ever spend time to think about that? Here are some of the things you may be thinking about...

(1) Product
You may have better product than the other people.

(2) Service
You may have better service, after care, return policy, warranty than your competitors.

(3) Price
Your price is better then the others.

If you say "No" to all that, please tell me how you are able to stay in business. This is often called "Value Proposition". What is yours?

What is Branding?

スレッド
You know those logos and wha... You know those logos and what they do.
No explanation necessary ... That is branding!
I have been hearing many marketing people say "Branding" especially in fast few years. I have read a few articles on branding and I could not come up with the simple explanation what it is and how it can be done. Then I searched for and listen to people.

What I came up is this...

If you advertise enough with your logo and product name, people remember your product. That makes it easy for customer to buy products and service that has your brand.

So, it is another marketing technique ... When you advertise, try to use same logo, name and color so that people will remember. You website should be consistent with your corporate brand as well.

Competitors to Microsoft

Competitors to Microsoft
I sometime wonder who Microsoft is competing?

Today, Microsoft looks like competing with Best Buy, Staples and Walmart. It's kind of sad to see the software company like Microsoft … Oh, I forgot, Microsoft is (or trying to be) "Device and Services Company" … What is that mean?

Year End Sale
Do you think it is ago pod idea for any Volkswagen (VW) group automaker to actively push ear end sales marketing? I understand VW group are being humored in negative publicities but I still see TV and Internet advertisement for year end sales vent. I personally think it might be a good idea to be just quiet. But that is my opinion. What do you think?

Do you even know which car brands are part of VW group?

When the marketing runs ahea...
It must be hard for German people to know VW cheated on their diesel engines for emission, because diesel engine was invented by German in Germany.

When you run a company that creates, invents and innovates, sometimes sales and marketing run ahead of R&D. It is important to make sure you created works the way the marketing will be saying.

Marketing Message

Marketing Message
I just received the following email for the Web development.
I understand what they are trying communicate but I think this is a bad message. Sure, you don't want to compete in just price but your price should be competitive. Also, the fact that this is sent to me, they have done do research on who they are sending this email to. They just purchased the mailing list and blasted thermal. It's just stupid.

A lot of Internet services are starting to appear like a commodity. If you like to stand out, you really need to come up with the message that resonate with people. You need to make sure you are

- Price
- Reliability
- Track Record
- Knowledge
Plus
- Something Special

And you need to convey that message in a shot time and this message is not it.

Yes, there are thousands of web-designers out there. And sure, they offer you
a great price, but what's the real cost?
Many of these fly-by-night developers don't deliver their work on time and
even when they don't just disappear completely, seem unable to return your
calls or emails promptly. And of course, the high quality they promised is
seldom there when they do actually deliver your website or mobile app.

We don't compete on price. We do compete on quality, communication,
on-time delivery and overall professionalism.
