Scam or Fake Commercial

I'm sorry, but I’ve made a personal decision not to buy anything—and I truly mean anything—that’s advertised on YouTube. This especially applies to cars. Whenever I see a car commercial on YouTube, it usually signals to me that the manufacturer is in trouble.

Think about it—strong, in-demand brands rarely need to push aggressive ads to random viewers online. When I see a car ad pop up, it often feels like a desperate attempt to boost sales, clear out inventory, or salvage public perception. If a car company is spending heavily on YouTube ads, it raises red flags for me. Are they not selling well through traditional channels? Are they struggling financially? Is consumer trust slipping?

Of course, advertising is part of every business, but I’ve noticed that the more a product is pushed in my face, the more skeptical I become. If it’s really that good, I should be hearing about it from real people—not YouTube pre-rolls.

So yes, I avoid buying anything promoted this way. And when it comes to cars, it’s almost a guarantee that I’ll look elsewhere.
