父の日おめでとうございます。
聖書は、世界の創造主のことを「父」と啓示します。
父はすべての生き物の源流です。
主イエスは神を「アバ」と呼ぶように教えられました。
それは当時使われていたアラム語で「お父ちゃん」です。
女性の地位向上や社会進出が進んでいるのが
ポストモダンの世界です。素晴らしいことです。
女性の持っている本来の特性と賜物を生かした場がもっと与えられて欲しいです。
この点日本は先進国の中でも最下位で、
まだまだ女性が抑圧されている社会環境と言えます。
女性解放の波はキリスト教会の中にも浸透しています。
少し前まではユダヤ教のラビであっても
キリスト教会の司祭・牧師であっても
宗教指導者に女性が立てられる事はありませんでした。
いや現在でもユダヤ教のラビでもイスラム教の教師でも
女性が立てられる事はあり得ません。
最近私が参加している勉強会で
そのことが取り上げられました。
曰く、「聖書には女性差別と男尊女卑を教えている」と。
「それは当時の文化に沿ったことであり、
当時の人々に対する教えであるので
それを今日まで持ってくることができない」と。
「当時の社会状況を踏ま得た上で
今日的適用を吟味しなくてはならない」と。
そうでしょうか？
聖書は当時の人々の考えや習慣、生き方を超越して
どの時代にも適応出来る普遍的な真理を伝えている
箇所もあるのではないでしょうか。
特にこの男女間の地位に関する教えは
注意深く見たならば
時代を超えた普遍性を伝えていないでしょうか。
「kyotaさん。
いつもリベラルなことを言って私たちを驚かせるのに
男女間のことについては保守的なんですか。
女性蔑視をしてるんですか？」
そんな事を言われてしまいそうです。
私はリベラルでも保守でもありません。
時代を超えた聖書の教えを今日に活かし
そこに生きようと試みるまでです。
例えば次の2つの聖句を紹介します。
"しかし、あなたがたに次のことを知ってほしいのです。
すべての男のかしらはキリストであり、
女のかしらは男であり、キリストのかしらは神です。"
コリント人への手紙 第一 11章3節
"男は神のかたちであり、神の栄光の現れなので、
頭にかぶり物を着けるべきではありません。
一方、女は男の栄光の現れです。"
コリント人への手紙 第一 11章7節
ここでは明らかに男性が女性の上にリーダーシップを取るべきであり、
男性の女性は男性の栄光の表れに過ぎないと、その補助的立場を伝えています。
その序列はキリストが私たち人間のかしらであるのと同様の確かさであると。
これはパウロがコリントの教会に書き送った手紙の中にある教えですが、
私たちクリスチャンはこれを神からの教えであると信じています。
さてこれはコリント教会特有の教えなのでしょうか。
それとも時代や国を越えて今日の日本のキリスト教会にも
適用すべき教えでしょうか。

The Bible reveals the Creator of the world as "Father".
The Father is the source of all living things.
The Lord Jesus taught us to call God "Abba".
That is "Father" in the Aramaic language used at that time.
Women are improving their status and advancing in society.
It is a postmodern world. It is wonderful.
I would like to see more opportunities for women to make use of their inherent characteristics and gifts.
In this respect, Japan is the lowest among the developed countries, and it can be said that women are still oppressed in our social environment.
The wave of women's liberation is also penetrating into the Christian church.
Until a while ago, even Jewish rabbis
Even priests and pastors of Christian churches,
there were no women in religious leadership positions.
Even today, there is no such thing as a Jewish rabbi or a Muslim teacher.
Recently, in a study group that I attend
This was brought up there.
One said, "The Bible teaches misogyny and chauvinism.
It is in line with the culture of the time, and it is a teaching for the people of the time.
You can't bring that up today.
"You have to take into account the social conditions of the time.
"We have to examine the application of the teachings to today based on the social conditions of the time.
Isn't that right?
The Bible is a universal text that can be adapted to any age, transcending the thoughts, customs, and lifestyles of the people of that time, I believe.
If you look carefully, this teaching on the status of men and women, in particular, conveys a timeless universality, don't you think?
“Hey Kyota,
You always surprise us by saying liberal things.
Are you conservative when it comes to gender issues?
Do you despise women?”
That's what you might say to me.
I am not a liberal or a conservative, but I am trying to apply the timeless teachings of the Bible to today.
I am just trying to live by them.
For example, here are two verses of Scripture.
"But I want you to know that
The head of every man is Christ, and the head of every woman is man, and the head of Christ is God."
1 Corinthians 11:3
"For the man is the image of God, and the manifestation of his glory.
He should not wear a headgear.
The woman, on the other hand, is a manifestation of the glory of the man."
1 Corinthians 11:7
It's clear here that men are to take leadership over women and woman is merely a manifestation of the glory of the man, and conveys his auxiliary position.
That the pecking order is as certain as Christ being the head of us humans.
This is the teaching of Paul in his letter to the church at Corinth.
We Christians believe this to be a teaching from God.
Is this a teaching that is unique to the Corinthian church only , or is it a teaching that should be applied to the Christian church in Japan today, transcending time and country?
