Is is my goal to create a software that requires no instruction. The software that is difficult use is worse than no software at all. All software should be design to help people, not confuse people.
Here are some of the images from 2002 COMDEX in Las Vegas. There was no Smartphones back then. Tablets are new but there were no standard. No many technology products were made in China but was made in Taiwan.
I was in Austin from Monday last week to Friday. I had no rain. It was warm during the day and little cold at night. The weather here is very ... Seattle. I miss the blue sky there.
After the wind storm of last night, my car had bunch of needles from the pine tree stuck. I am at the only place I take my car clean. Http://www.parkplaceltd.com
Today, I really have learned that more monitor space you have, more productivity you get. I was working on mu 13" notebook PC and finished about 2/3 of the work in 10 hours. Other person with 4 monitors finished the rest within 1 hour.
I know it is not just the number of monitor ... but I would have increase my productivity if I had two monitors.
Here are some numbers I learned at DELL WORLD 2012 this week about BIG DATA.
5 Exabyte of data were stored globally in 2002
1 Exabyte = 1 billion gigabytes
In 2010
Enterprises had more than 7 Exabyte of new data on disk drives
Consumers stored more than 6 Exabyte of new data on PCs and notebooks
But in the last few years, the amount of data we create and use every day has exploded
As of 2012, 2.5 Exabyte of data are created each day
In 2011 there were 780 million smartphones that generated more than 600 petabytes every month
Data generated by mobiles will reach 11 Exabyte per month by 2016
The information you see above is important to a storage provide like DELL but what is that mean to small business? No matter how much data you have about your customers, nothing beats you saying "Hello _____" when the customer walks in the door. Data storage can't do that.
Storing data is one thing. Sorting and grabbing the data you need are more essential to your business success. As small companies, we do not have IT budget like enterprises to do many things. But small businesses know customers more than enterprises do.
@PSPINC, we help you maintain that business edge by providing the right amount business tools without breaking the bank. PSPINC is a small business IT company for small businesses.
