I got a small 100 piece jigsaw puzzle from the Seattle Executives Classfication Talk other day. I opened it and build it ... it took long time.

But it is missing three pieces. Come on!!!

I want to do marketing.

Dear Reader,

When you ask many applicants what they want to do, most of them say they want to do “Marketing”. When I hear that I asked them to define marketing. Then they tell me “Advertisement Creation”, “Advertisement Placement”, “Search Engine Optimization”, “Social Media Campaigns” and so on. So I ask if they think “Marketing” is a revenue-generating function of the company? Most of them think so.

I tell them unless you are a big corporation which has a lot of money to burn, “Marketing” is an expense. I understand the purpose of “marketing” is to generate revenue, but there is no guarantee that the money you spend will generate any income. So for me, “Marketing” is an expense which needs to be justified not just by the gut feeling, but the bottom line.

So, when you do your “Marketing”, you need to keep track of how much you spend how much you get back. You start small and test the water. When you find a small marketing program that generates at least what it costs, you start increasing the budge. Anything you do that generates no return, terminate it immediately.

Do not hire any outside marketing specialists. Their job is to make you spend money. They make nothing if you do not spend. Remember “Marketing” is an expense not revenue by itself.

Use Click It Audio

Last year I was browsing the Internet and found an article that I was interested in - so I started to read it. I am not a fast reader and unlike newspapers or magazines, reading long articles can be very tiring. So, I selected the article and with a click of the right button on my mouse, I chose Speech (I'm a Mac user, and I don't know if Windows has this function). It started to read using computer synthesized audio.

I thought it would be nice if the author of the article could read it for me. As a test, I recorded my voice using Mac Recorder and created an MP3 file. Then I tried to embed that audio file in to a web page. It turned out to be not so easy and the end result was very ugly on my screen. I needed a simple solution to upload audio and embed it in to websites and blogs. From there, we created the prototype of Click It Audio and showed it to some people.

ClickItAudio.com was registered in February 2018. Since then, we have added several features such as:

- Free signup for 3 audio file uploads
- Audio bumper appended to the end of free uploads
- Auto-generated QR code for each audio file
- Audio replacement (which allows the user to replace the audio up to 3 times)
- Custom Icon Upload
- RFID Activation Test
