Phishing Mail

It tried to install software but I am using Mac not Windows

I receive the email from what looks like COSTCO. I know I did not order anything, so I know it is a phishing email. I tested the link by clicking on it. DO NOT DO THIS.

It tried to install some kind of software. Fortunately, the software it tried to install was not compatible with Macintosh. I don't know what this software do but it's not good for your computer or you. So, do not click on the link.

I cannot play YouTube videos on Safari

I upgraded OS X 10.10 to 10.10.1 and now I cannot play YouTUBE videos. I had to install Chrome ... it's good for Google I guess.

Apple OS Upgrade

Both MacOS X Yosemite and iOS 8 have upgrade today. I do not clearly know what have been upgraded or fixed but for Yosemite users, I recommend you upgrade them because 10.10 is a crap and hopefully 10.10.1 fix some of them.

Also, after this upgrade, I tested MacMail issue … it is not a part of this fix. If you have problem sending / receiving email using IMAP with MacOS X Yosemite, contact us. I think we know what the problem is and how to fix it.

PC and Tablets are not the same!

What is the biggest difference between the PC operating system and Tablet/Smart Phone operating system? When you know that, you understand why running Tablet OS on PC is not a good idea.

The biggest difference between PC and Tablets is the screen size. PC have evolved to open multiple application programs and display them on the screen at the same time allowing users move between the application programs. That is the biggest advantage of Windows and Macintish and X Window on Unix operating system. But because of smaller screens you find on the tablets and smart phones, the application programs are design to run using full screen. To switch application programs on tables, you need to close, although the application is still running, the application.

Unfortunately, Windows' new interface, often called metro interface, treats PC like a tablet or smart phone. You cannot open and display multiple application like standard Windows application. That is why I think the current Windows operating system is not very productive. Fortunately, you can choose not to use metro interface. But I don't think metro should even be there on PC. That is my opinion.

Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite and IMAP Email

There is a bug in the Yosemite Mac Mail where if you set SSL for your incoming server once, you cannot get this SSL out no matter what. The only solution is t delete an account and set it up again without SSL if your provider does not support SSL over IMAP.
