My Idea of Investing in Company Management
When most people hear the word "investment," they may think of things like buying stocks. Today, I would like to share my opinion on the investments necessary to run a business. I may differ slightly from what you may think of as an investment, as I consider expenses to be one type of investment. I also believe that IT-related businesses, such as my company, require different types of investments than other types of businesses.
The investments I consider necessary for businesses are the following:
(1) Rent
(2) Labor, taxes, and insurance
(3) Equipment
(4) Transportation and communication costs
(5) Advertising and marketing
These are the minimum investments required to run a business. In business, there are expenses for everything you do. And to increase sales, you need more income than expenses. As a business owner, you need to consider not only the sales when things go well, but also the risks involved and the necessary investments.
Sales are not fixed, but you have some control over your investments. Therefore, I always weigh investments and sales in order to increase profits. With 35 years of management experience, I have never had sales without investments. Investment includes not only money, but also my own effort and time. At first, because there were no sales, I took the approach of investing my own time.
As long as I work for myself, no monetary investment is required, so I still work for myself. However, once a company is established, everything requires financial investments. I believe that how we choose to manage our investments will directly impact our company's profits. As I mentioned at the beginning, without investments there are no sales. I believe it is becoming increasingly important to make good investments.
