ひさかたぶりに見た真っ赤な夕焼け。
コロナによるステイホームオーダーが日本でも米国でも徐々に解除されて行き、元の生活に段階的にシフトする中にあります。確かコロナ騒ぎの初期にもこのような真っ赤な夕日を見ては、いつか収縮する時が来るのかなあ、なんて絶望的に夕焼けを見上げたことがありました。
世界3大投資家の1人と言われているジム・ロジャーズさん。この方は大変な勉強家で近未来の世界のあり方を歴史の教訓から予測することにたけていると定評があります。あのリーマンショックも予測できたとか。
彼に言わせると、コロナ後の世界はアメリカが没落し中国の世界覇権が始まり、さらに日本に未来はなく日本人は日本列島から逃げ出すべきであると言っています。この点は私の願望とも推測とも全く別方向です。
しかし彼の書かれたこの本には我が子にも知っておいてもらいたいキャリア形成の大切な原則があります。
今後の世界においては自分の得意分野を磨き、他者のできないこと集中しては専門性を伸ばして差異化を図ること。彼らにはこの点をぜひとも学んでもらいたいです。

自分の能力を磨き、ほかの人にない専門性を身に付けるべきだ
「あなたがお金を見つけるのではなく、お金の方があなたを見つけてくれるだろう。物事が本当に得意な人は少ない。自分の能力を磨き、ほかの人にないような専門性を身に付けようと努力した方がいい。投資家でもスポーツ選手でも、どんな職業でもそれは同じだ」
自分が本当に得意なことを見つけて、それを徹底的に磨くことが差異化と価値の向上につながり、結果的にお金持ちになる可能性を高めるとロジャーズ氏は考えている。

The stay-home order by the corona is gradually being lifted in both Japan and the US.
We are in the midst of a target shift. As I recall, even in the early days of the corona fiasco, seeing a bright red sunset like this one, I wondered if the time will come to settle down this fiasco, looking up at the sunset in despair.
Well, Mr. Jim Rogers is considered one of the three greatest investors in the world. He is a great scholar, and is said to be an expert at predicting the future of the world based on the lessons of history. It has a well-established reputation. He could even predict the Lehman shock.
He said that the post-Corona world would be starting the fall of the US and the beginning of China's global hegemony. He also says there is no future in Japan and the Japanese should flee the Japanese Islands. This is a completely different direction from my wish and speculation.
However, there are some important principles in this book that I want my children to know about career development.
In the world to come, you have to hone your strengths and focus on what others can't do and develop your expertise To make a difference from others. I want to urge them to learn this point.

So what does Rogers think about how to choose a successful career? Many students in Japan are interested in job popularity rankings. At the top of the list are often large companies that appear to be well-paying and stable. How does Mr. Rogers perceive such job choices?
'If you're looking for a job, it's not the company that pays the most for you. You should look for a company that can offer the most fitting job for you. The money will follow. It doesn't matter if you start your career with a low salary if you're with a company that will entrust you with the right job. If you're good, your boss and colleagues will notice and will probably pull you up. All good companies want good people.
You should hone your skills and develop an expertise that others don't have.
'You won't find the money; the money will find you. Few people are really good at things. You should strive to hone your skills and develop an expertise that others don't have. Whether you're an investor, an athlete, or any profession, it's the same.
Rogers believes that finding what you're really good at and honing it thoroughly will help you differentiate and increase your value, and ultimately increase your chances of becoming rich.
