This year will be our first time attending the Restaurant Leadership Conference in Arizona. We will be displaying our Opinion Stand information gathering and marketing tool. Since the initial development of the Opinion Stand Kiosk system, we have made numerous upgrades and changes to make it extremely useful and powerful.

The current version version will run on any PC or tablet, treating it as if it were a Kiosk. We have also made a text/SMS and QR code-based system so that there is no need for a Kiosk if you choose to go without physical hardware. It lets you include a text or QR code on printable mediums such as poster, flyers, receipts, table tents, product packaging and much more. There is also a version of Opinion Stand that runs on your website allowing you to gather website visitor's opinions.

We have also upgraded the back-end statistics to provide more information on people’s reactions. The system can be used to run as a marketing option to gather people’s contact information.

This website has no purpose ... or does it? When I lost my dog, Pompom, two years ago, I created a website to send message to him in Heaven. I made it as a pet project to learn PHP 7. I didn’t really need to learn PHP but I had a purpose. That purpose was to build that website.

I wanted to create a website that was designed for me to write anything I wanted and to post it nowhere. I can write anything without worrying about anyone seeing it except myself and Pompom in heaven. The source code has no functionality to save any messages you write. In addition, I purchased an SSL certificate to make sure your communication is also protected.

I did not make this site to make money. I just wanted to feel that Pompom is still with me. You are free to use this site and write anything you want. I assure you that I have no idea what you have written.

Just in case you would like to know, there is a site post counter that goes up by one when something is written. Currently there are more than 12,500 posts and that is not all me.

世の中には何の意味もないサイトが存在します。これはわたしが作ったそんなサイトのお話です。
2年前にわたしは愛犬のポンポンくんを天国に送り出しました。ペットをお持ちの方ならそれがどれだけ辛いかお分かりいただけると思います。そこでわたしは天国にいるポンポンくんにメッセージを送るサイトを作りました。

このサイトでは、誰でも自由に好きなことを書いて送信することができます。でもそれらの言葉はどこにも保存されないのです。そう、書いた文字は送信した時点で天国に送り出され痕跡はまったく残らないのです。そしてサイト自体も SSL を購入して暗号化通信をしています。
まったく意味のないサイト・・・でもここにメッセージを書くとなぜか少しだけホッとします。

皆さんもぜひこのサイトを使ってみてください。たまには収益を考えていないサイトのお話をしてもいいかと思いました。ちなみにこのサイト、2年前の開設から12,500回以上使われています。それが全部わたしでないことは事実です。

Once upon a time there was a big gap between generations when it came to understanding digital technologies. It was called the “Digital Divide”. Since then, it appears that the division has shrunk. The fact is, the younger generation has grown older with more tech knowledge and with technologies becoming easier to use. So the gap seems to be smaller, but the fact is, you do not need to know as much about the tech anymore.

It is like when cars moved from manual transmission to automatic. It appeared that people were driving better, but in reality cars just became a whole lot easier to drive. Now cars are moving toward self driving... does that mean people are driving better? No, it just means that people are not in charge anymore. Instead of people using technology, people will become passengers.

When I design software and services, I want to make sure we can do as much as we can to free up your time but I always remember who is ultimately in charge. We try to make sure you make no mistakes but that you are free to try out anything. At the same time, when you become stuck, our customer support, and entire company for that matter, is behind you to help you get unstuck from any situation.

OPINION STAND- DIRECT FEEDBACK FROM CUSTOMERS

Hello from Kobe, Japan. I am on a business trip to Japan and I will be back in Seattle next Monday. I will spend my last two days in Seoul, Korea. With this little trip to Korea, I was able to cut my business class airfare expense by more than 50%. I can explain it more to you if you would like.

Today I would like to talk to you about the product called “Opinion Stand”. This system allows you to receive direct feedback from your customers. You may have seen something like this before but we have taken it to the next level.

KIOSK : This is a tablet-based opinion gathering system. People can simply press one of the faces on the tablet to give their feedback.

PAPYRUS : This is a QR code-based opinion gathering system. With this version of the system you can add a QR code to your product packaging, receipt or marketing materials. People can easily scan the QR code to display Opinion Stand on their smartphones.

KUMO : This option allows you to add opinion gathering buttons to your website.

WHAT IS ML-5?

Hello, this is Ken Uchikura again from Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. We are very privileged to be chosen to take care of your Domain, Web and Email needs. We have been working very hard to make sure the services that you use are secure and stable. You probably did not feel it, but we had a massive DDoS attack to our servers lasting an entire week. We were able to reroute all DDoS traffic to the abyss and run the entire service on one side of our network without causing any service outage. This took place from January 5th - 11th this year. We are now redesigning our network to mitigate more incidents like this. I will keep you posted.

Note: What is DDoS attack?

A distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack is a malicious attempt to disrupt normal traffic of a targeted server, service or network by overwhelming the target or its surrounding infrastructure with a flood of Internet traffic.

Here is what we are working on.

When we started our Internet service back in 1996 (23 years ago), there was no email software we could use to provide reliable service with. So we created our own POP email server system called ST Mail. It was designed to run on a Windows Server. We have upgraded ST Mail and it is currently on version 4.0 supporting POP and IMAP.

2 years ago, we started to design and build a new email server based completely on a new codebase running on a Linux server. We are happy to say that we will be starting internal tests of this new email server (codename PSP ML-5) this quarter. We are hoping to start using this new server to provide Dreamersi email service by this Summer.

ST Mail, running on Windows servers, is still one of the most stable and fastest email servers in the industry. However, ML-5 is going to be even faster and more stable. Plus, ML-5 will have one more feature that no other email server has. With ML-5 you will be able to host your email server at your own facility and it will be backed up by our datacenter. You will be able to install and run your email from your office with no limitations. When the server in your office is offline, your email service will automatically be handled by PSPinc - there will be no down time.

This is one of the products we are currently creating. I will continue to write about other exciting things that we are working on. Please let me know what you think.
