Why We're Updating

To address vulnerabilities of our SSL Cipher Strength (SSLCipherSuite) in case of cyberattacks like DHeat attacks, where criminals perform a denial-of-service (DoS) attack without needing authentication, privilege, or user interaction, and Raccoon attacks, which can either be a side-channel or man-in-the-middle type of attack that leaks the most significant part of the SSL cipher.

This security update will equip your personal and transactional information and other sensitive data with even stronger protection against cyber threats like DHeat and Raccoon attacks, among others. Additionally, we are terminating HTTPS access from Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7, which Microsoft has already stopped supporting.

Scheduled Date & Time:

Feb 1, 2024, at 10 a.m. PST

The Importance of Prioritizing Customer Experiences

スレッド
The Importance of Prioritizing ...
Marketing professionals have always known giving customers the best experience possible is important, and that it refers to the entire customer journey rather than ending after making the purchase. Delivering great experiences has only become that much more important. Businesses have the opportunity to maintain and strengthen relationships with customers at every step of the customer journey by building trust.

Building strong relationships between your business and your customers starts with creating exceptional customer experiences. And with so much of our interactions with brands online, customer experiences can make or break a business. According to a report from Salesforce, 79% of customers agree that the experience is just as important as the product or service a company sells. So, prioritizing customer experiences is a necessity today to stand out amongst competitors.

How to Prioritize Customer Experiences

cheerful young waitress communicating to customers

While it’s easy to say how important prioritizing customer experiences is, it’s another to put that into action. A few ways you can do that include:

Exceed expectations

When you give customers what they expect, it’ll satisfy them. It’s when things unexpectedly go wrong when they aren’t happy. But if you can give them more than they expect like adding a welcome gift, thank you card, or even just standout customer service, they’ll be thrilled. When people feel the love, they’ll return the favor by coming back for their next purchase or even recommending your brand to others.

Ask for, listen to, and act on feedback

We’ve explained before why asking for customer feedback is important, and doing so in the form of reviews or some kind of rating system makes it easy. But just asking for feedback means nothing if you don’t do anything about it.

People want to feel heard, and reviews and ratings hold a lot of weight on your business because of how heavily potential customers rely on them. From a business perspective, it’s also important to constantly try to improve your business. With these ratings and reviews being directly about your product, this is the easiest way to do so.

Reward loyalty

There’s a reason loyalty programs work: they build trust and increase customer retention. But there’s an easy way to reward customers’ loyalty as opposed to building a whole program around it. You can reward people with small things like reposting user-generated content with a thank you attached or offering exclusive discounts to show your appreciation.

Benefits of Prioritizing Customer Experiences

a woman in brown apron talking to customer with newspaper open

Prioritizing customer experiences doesn’t just build trust between your business and your customers, but it is also much more cost-effective and less time-consuming compared to trying to obtain new customers. It also results in happier customers, which will result in good customer reviews. And if they really like their experience, it’s possible they’ll become brand advocates, where they’ll market for you by recommending your business to their friends, families, and/or online followers.

So, it’s clear that businesses shouldn’t just consider customers’ experiences, but they should make it a vital part of their marketing strategy. It’s often an overlooked part of the process, but it pays off in the end to make it the best it can be. The reality is that customers are constantly interacting with the brand, even if it isn’t directly with your customer support people. They’re scrolling past ads on social media, watching an influencer promote a product on YouTube, or checking out your Instagram page. So, use that to your advantage by making sure every interaction your business has with customers will keep them coming back.

What’s New Newsletter Vol. 174 “Asking for Feedback”

スレッド
What’s New News...
We’ve talked about the importance of positive Google reviews, but feedback is important to every business. Especially a small one. Asking for feedback from your customers shows you care. But for businesses, feedback also tells you more about how customers feel about your products, services, and experiences. More importantly, it highlights where you can improve. If you see a lot of the same complaints about a product, reviews will alert you to the problem. The last thing you really want is to have a faulty product and not know about it. And if you don’t know there’s a problem, it also means you can’t fix the problem.

Other than using Google reviews, you can also ask for feedback from customers with an online form embedded on your website or with Opinion Stand. With an online form, you can ask multiple questions tailored to your business and your customers’ experiences. And you don’t even need to know how to code if you use InforMakers. If you’d rather just get a general rating, embed Opinion Stand into your website, emails, and other digital media. Or create a QR code where customers can click on which face best expresses their overall experiences. Book a demo today.

What’s New Newsletter Vol. 173 “Invest in a Go-To IT Company”

スレッド
What’s New News...
Getting good quality IT support is an underrated service. Only when something breaks do you need to call someone to assist you. So, having a go-to IT company for when you need it is a good idea. When you frequent one company for your IT services, it’ll result in better response times and a better experience overall because, after a while, the hope is that they’ll remember you and your problems from the last time you called. If the company’s local, that’s even better because you won’t have to worry about long-distance call expenses, and they can come out to help you if you need on-site technical support.

Unfortunately, the IT industry, as a whole, doesn’t have the best reputation when it comes to customer service. People have complained about long wait times, unfriendly, and lack of follow-up. That’s exactly why we focus so much of our IT support efforts on making sure our customers have the best experience. When you call for IT support from us, our team has an incredible reputation, working closely with our customers to help with whatever technological need they have. So, consider making us your go-to IT company, and reach out to our IT support team for any questions.

How Personalized Marketing Can Benefit Your Business

スレッド
How Personalized Marketing C...
With so many small businesses out there, it’s hard to convince customers to choose yours. Not only that, but you want those customers to stay with you long term. Customers want to feel special rather than just another customer. One way to do that is to personalize marketing messages to customers. Personalized marketing is when a business tailors marketing efforts based on collected customer data such as purchase history, interests, and demographic data.

According to Slideshare, 90% of customers find personalization very or somewhat appealing. And 80% of customers are more inclined to buy from companies that offer personalized experiences. Personalized marketing is, however, more than simply addressing customers by name in marketing emails. It can also include product recommendations based on purchase history, cart abandonment emails, birthday emails, and even personalized web pages or pop-ups for first-time or returning customers.

Benefits of Personalized Marketing

A Person Holding a Smartphone

With so much content and advertisements out there, businesses won’t attract customers with irrelevant marketing messages. Personalized messages, however, will help retain customers and bring them back repeatedly. With personalized marketing messages, potential customers are more likely to convert into actual customers and purchase from you. It results in a better customer experience, one that may even be good enough to share online or with close friends. In turn, it simplifies the lead nurturing process, as personalizing improves the overall experience, increasing the likelihood that users will convert. And it’ll result in more customer engagement and feedback in the end.

As a business, you can also get valuable insight into your customers. By personalizing marketing efforts, you can see how customers shop, what they like, and what they don’t like. You can then use all this additional knowledge to see how effective your efforts are. More importantly, you can also improve in areas that could use an upgrade. With all this combined, it will ultimately lead to increased revenue.

5 Post-Purchase Marketing Tactics to Increase Retention

スレッド
5 Post-Purchase Marketing Tac...
For any business, growing through monetary means is the end goal. What that entails is generating sales and making a profit, year after year. But for sales and marketing teams, it’s not just about putting all their efforts into getting new customers and selling to them. It’s also about nurturing relationships with customers, even after they’ve already purchased the product. This is what’s called post-purchase marketing. While making the sale is great, continuing that relationship with the customer is how businesses can turn a one-time customer into a repeat customer. That correspondence makes customers feel like the company truly cares about them, and that they aren’t just a sales number.

The sale is just the beginning of the relationship between the customer and the company. The customer journey isn’t linear, it’s a loop. It doesn’t end once the customer purchases. If brands have an effective post-purchase plan in place, it can send customers back around towards the acquisition stage or straight to the purchase stage again. Post-purchase marketing, when done well, encourages repeat purchases and can even create brand advocates. Here are five post-purchase marketing tactics you can employ to increase retention:

1. Customer Support

a call center agent holding a clipboard

Just because a customer purchased from you, it doesn’t mean they’re satisfied with the product. To better support your customer after a sale, keep communication lines open. The customer support team can create valuable content for customers like user-friendly guides on how to best navigate your product, or they can do it over the phone. Because the last thing you want is a disgruntled customer. Especially one that will rant on social media about their unpleasant experience.

2. Email Marketing

person using a laptop open to gmail next to an open notebook with a color swatch, pencil bag, and an open marker

Despite the popularity of other digital platforms like social media, email continues to be one of the most effective marketing tactics. Everyone has an email, and most people check it regularly. This is even more true for those working in business. To make it easier, automate email marketing campaigns. Whenever a customer takes a specific action, be it signing up for something or purchasing a product, it should trigger an email response. Just make sure the content is personalized enough so customers don’t feel like they’re just receiving a generic templated email.

3. Customer Feedback

One of the biggest benefits your business can get from post-purchase marketing is positive reviews. Asking customers for reviews gives you more insight into your products, services, and the overall customer experience. After all, knowing that there’s a problem is the first step in figuring out how to fix it. For those glowing reviews, your business can reuse those testimonials in future marketing efforts, which will help bring in more customers.

4. Refund Policy/Returns Process

person giving money to another person

While it seems counterintuitive, making your refund and returns policy clear helps both your customers and your business. When customers purchase something, there’s a level of anxiety attached to it. They want the money they spent to be well worth it in the end. Similarly, returning products can be a stressful process, so giving customers a quick but informative guide is helpful. Making both your refund and returns policy not only eases their anxiety but also lessens the chance they’ll get buyer’s remorse.

5. Social Media and User Generated Content (UGC)

selective focus photography of person using iPhone x

Lastly, businesses can use social media to connect with their customers. In a follow-up email post-sale, you can encourage people to engage with you on relevant social channels. You can create a unique hashtag to promote your business and encourage other users to share content with the hashtag, thus creating user-generated content (UGC). Or you can even run a competition on social media to increase engagement. UGC not only engages customers but also creates authentic content that you can repurpose in future marketing campaigns.

What is “Big Data”?

スレッド
What is “Big Da...
Big data is exactly what it sounds like: an enormous, exponentially growing amount of data. Data versus big data really comes down to three factors known as the three V's: volume, velocity, and variety. Volume refers to the sheer amount of data. Velocity, however, looks at how fast it generates. Lastly, variety includes structured (numerical data), semi-structured (machine-generated documents and data in a no-SQL database), and unstructured data (text and image files). But over the last few years, two more V's have emerged: value and veracity. They involve determining how accurate your data is, how much you can rely on it, and what kind of value you can gather from it.

The Benefits of Big Data

a business woman pumping her fist int the air while holding a piece of paper sitting in front of a laptop

Big data is, like the name suggests, big. But it means nothing if you can’t derive value from it. Cleaning, curating, and preparing data for clients takes up a significant amount of time. But in the end, valuable data remains prime for companies to use to their advantage. So, it’s no surprise that data is behind some of the world's biggest companies' success. Those companies have figured out how to use their data to develop products better, improve customer experiences, and drive innovation.

For example, Spotify and Netflix look at what their customers listen to or watch and use that data to determine what else they might like. Then, they can recommend content based on predictive models created from collected data. Businesses can also gather an immense amount of data from social media, website visits, call logs, and other customer actions to analyze how they interact with the company. Then, they can use it to see where they can improve. And that includes enhancing their overall efficiency and identifying new ways to drive innovation.

How Big Data is Changing

a finger pointing at a dark screen with a bunch of numbers

As great as big data is, the real challenge comes in keeping up with it. Year after year, newly developed technologies emerge to help store all that data. But data volumes continue to increase exponentially. Because of that, organizations struggle keeping up with the accelerating pace. And it doesn't look to be slowing down anytime soon. But when businesses can find relevant meaning behind all that data, that can lead to true success.
