Good value compared to $12 ramen in Seattle.

Have you ever had Vietnamese's Sandwich before?
Vietnam was occupied by French for a long time before the Vietnamese War. So, they have a quite bit of French influence. Many of you know about Pho, the rice noodle soup dish, but not many know how good their sandwiches are.

Making Soba / そば作り

2 Cup Soba Powder (I brought back from Japan)
2 Cup All Purpose Flour
1 Cup Water

Mixed and went into Kitchen Aid pasta maker. It was slow but soba noodle looking thing came out. I will try cooking it for lunch.

日本から買ってきたそば粉を使ってそばを作ってみました。どんな味か、お昼に食べてみます。

I wonder how much they would cost in Seattle?
I think they would cost at least twice as much and on top of that you have to ay sales tax and tip. With the weaker yen, they seem even more reasonable.

Takoyaki

I had Takoyaki yesterday. If you don't know what it is, check out the Wikipedia I listed. It was very hot and good. If you never had it, you should try. You can also buy frozen Takoyaki at Japanese supermarkets in the US. Make sure you buy one that is round not a bell shape one.

Have you ever purchased Jimmy John's a day old bread? They are $.50 each and they are good. I buy two or three every time I buy a sandwich there.

I don't go to subway much anymore. I like JJ's bread.

Yes, I had a steak at Seafood Restaurant.
Sorry … I like seafood but I really think restaurants here do not know how to prepare seafood properly. I eat seafood a lot at Japanese restaurants but not in American restaurants with exception of Fish and Chips.

Steak Dinner

I cooked dinner tonight. I had a half price steak from Safeway and I cooked. Combined with the left over salad, they made a wonderful low-carb dinner that tasted great.
