今日もシアトルは快晴です。
明日から毎日雨の通常天候に戻ると聞いて今日の1日、太陽の恵みを満喫しました。
今日もワシントン湖にて寒中水泳。
入水した直後の尋常でない冷たさに、
それとしばらくは水中で呼吸ができない苦しさに「俺はなんてバカなことをしてるんだ」と悔いるのですが、水から上がった直後の爽快感には何物にも変えがたいものがあります。
たとえ湖に氷が浮いていてもジャンプしたんではないかと思います。
知らんけど。
もちろんこんなことが出来るのも、焚き火が用意されているからです。
その後はランチに娘が準備してくれたヴィーガンスープ。
Turmeric と言い名のスパイスを初体験。
なんとも香ばしい風味です。
今後私が自作するヴィーガンスープのためにと、１瓶を贈ってくれる優しさ。
最近子供たちの日本語が上達するにつれて、
私たちの食事評価方法も変わりました。
これまでは「ミドルクラス・アッパークラス」ですが、
数日前から以下のような日本語4段階評定に。
「まだまだね」
「もうちょっとね」
「いいね」
「魔女」
彼らによると、昨夜の私のスパゲティー・ディナーでは「いいね」、
本日の娘のヴィーガンスープ・ランチはさらに高評価の「魔女」だそうです。
ランチの後は日本語のお勉強会。
この日は、今週90歳の誕生日を迎えた日本にいるおばあちゃんに、日本語の誕生カードを書きました。息子は初めて自分の名前を漢字で書きました。
今日の1日を感謝します。
"私はあなたに感謝します。
あなたが私に答え私の救いとなられたからです。
家を建てる者たちが捨てた石それが要の石となった。
これは主がなさったこと。
私たちの目には不思議なことだ。
これは主が設けられた日。
この日を楽しみ喜ぼう。"
詩篇 118篇21～24節
上の聖書の御言葉を今日の私の1日に適用してみます。
①生きていてもう神は、私の祈りに答えてくださった。
②それは主イエスと言う人物を通して神に至ったもので、成就した救いである。
③この主イエスは、ローマ人からもユダヤ人からも捨てられ、十字架で死を遂げられた。
④それはまるで建築家が価値のない土台石を捨てるかのような放棄であった。
⑤多くの人に踏みにじられ捨てられたその人物が、少数のある人々にとって最高の贈り物となった。
⑥これはまるで不思議なことである。神の計画は人間の目には常に想像を超えるものである。
⑦雨の日も晴れの日も、時代の趨勢がどのように移り変わっても、この主にあって今日の1日を楽しみ喜ぶことができる。
It's another sunny day in Seattle.
I heard that the weather will return to normal with rain every day starting tomorrow, so I enjoyed the sunshine all day today.
Today, I went for another cold swim at Lake Washington.
I felt an uncommon coldness right after entering the water.
That and the agony of not being able to breathe under water for a while makes me regret "what a fool I am," but the exhilaration you feel right after you get out of the water is irreplaceable.

Afterwards, we had vegan soup prepared by my daughter for lunch.
This was my first experience with a spice called Turmeric.
It has a very fragrant flavor.
She was kind enough to give me a bottle of that spice for a vegan soup I'll be making myself in the future.
As the kids' Japanese language skills have improved recently, our dietary rating system has also changed.
Previously it was "Middle Class or Upper Class”,

After lunch, we had a Japanese study session.
On this day, we wrote a Japanese birthday card to a grandmother in Japan who celebrated her 90th birthday this week. My son wrote his name in kanji for the first time.

God has already answered my prayers in my life;
(2) This is the salvation that has come to me through the person of the Lord Jesus,
the fulfilled salvation.
(3) This Lord Jesus was discarded by the Romans and the Jews and died on the cross.
(4) The abandonment was like a builder throwing away a worthless foundation stone.
(5) The man who was trampled and discarded by many became the greatest gift to a few.
(6) This is as strange as it gets. God's plan has always been beyond imagination in the eyes of man.
(7) Rain or shine, no matter how the trends of the times change, we can enjoy and rejoice in this day in the Lord.
