シアトルの皆さん。
昨日の摂氏42度(華氏110度)と言う記録的な猛暑の中、ご苦労様です。生きていますか〜 笑
クーラーのない自宅で汗だくとなりながらランチ終えて
私はシアトルの空港へ。
2時間余りのフライトで天然クーラーの効いているカリフォルニアのオークランドに降り立ちました。
昨日に出立前、あまりの暑さに私は半袖半ズボンの服を買いに行き、到着時はそれを着ていたのですが、肌寒いほどでした。
長袖のトレーナー姿の人を多く見かけました。
それにしても、「サンフランシスコは霧の街」とよく言われますが、上空から見てもその通りです。
手前正面に見えるのがベイブリッジでその向こうの摩天楼の密集した街並みがサンフランシスコ。その部分から太平洋にかけてすっぽりと白い霧で覆われています。
そのサンフランシスコから右手に伸びている橋がゴールデンゲートブリッジです。
その時サンフランシスコは摂氏17度(華氏62度)でした。
身体障害者の私は、ファーストクラス搭乗よりも先に搭乗できる特権を与えられ、最前列の足元空間の広い席を確保できて快適なフライトでした。

I finished my lunch in a sweat at home without air conditioner yesterday.
Then I went to the airport in Seattle.
After a two-hour flight, I landed in Oakland, California, a naturally air-conditioned city.
Before I left yesterday, it was so hot that I went out to buy some short-sleeved, short-pant clothes, which I wore at Oakland, but it was chilly.
Everyone else was wearing long and sweatshirts.
It's often said that San Francisco is a city of fog, and it's true from the air.
The Bay Bridge can be seen in the foreground, and beyond it is the city of San Francisco with its dense skyscrapers. From that part of the city to the Pacific Ocean, it is completely covered with white fog.
The bridge stretching from San Francisco to the right is the Golden Gate Bridge.
At that time, it was 17 degrees Celsius (62 degrees Fahrenheit) in San Francisco.
As a disabled person, I was given the privilege of boarding before the first class passengers, and I was able to secure a seat in the front row with a lot of legroom, which made the flight comfortable.
