Debit Card for Japan Trip ... Update

I was able to use Fidelity Debit Card to withdraw money at ATM in Japan.
I withdraw 50,000yen ... It costs me $346.13 ... the rate was 144.45yen = $1.00

There seems no transaction fee not ATM fee charged.
There was a option to get charged in US $ at ATM but I selected to charge my account in Japanese yen. It was muchu better rate that way.

Also, I wanted to withdraw 100,000yen but it was over the limit.

Garbage and Recycle Pickup in Japan

Unlike United Sates, the garbedge is picked up at the curve side. Multiple family share the same curve side. Also as you cam see, gargedge and recycles are separated but thrown out together. I guess they are pickled up together but separated at the processing center.

Debit Card for Japan Trip

I have decided to use the Fidelity Debit Card to withdraw Yen in Japan. I used to use UNION Bank, but it is no longer available. US BANK, which took over UNION Bank, offers services that are beneficial for my travel.

I researched over the last few days and selected the Fidelity Debit Card, which will reimburse me for ATM fees in Japan. I should be able to use any ATM machine in Japan as long as there is a VISA, PLUS, INTERLINK, or STAR sign. I will let you know how it goes.

Business Costs

In a typical business, they say that one-third of your business goes to the cost of goods and services. One-third goes to sales and marketing expenses. And the last third should consist of profit.

Lower the cost of goods

To lower the cost of production, use cheaper parts and produce products in regions with lower manufacturing costs. Mechanize and streamline production to reduce labor costs and the time and tasks required for production. These are just a few examples. This is why many manufacturing companies have moved to Southeast Asia, where labor costs are lower.

However, in recent years, they’ve found that moving manufacturing to cheaper regions doesn’t actually lead to lower costs in the long run. Specifically because labor costs are rising due to how concentrated manufacturing is in those regions.

Higher selling prices for goods

The higher the selling price of a product, the higher the profit from product sales. However, it goes without saying that the higher the price per product, the less it’ll sell. To prevent this, the product needs brand power. But you can’t create a brand by doing nothing. In order to build brand power, it’ll involve some marketing work. Needless to say, marketing is part of the cost of goods.

Many company owners, especially entrepreneurs, focus on creating a good product but don’t focus on sales and marketing. They believe that a product will sell if you make it the best it can be. In reality, however, no matter how good the product is, it won’t sell if no one knows about it. To succeed, managers need to use a balanced approach to product development, manufacturing, sales, and marketing.

Good Bye UNION BANK and Good Bye US BANK

Bye Bye

I used to have private banking with UNION BANK which was a great benefit to use when I travel to Japan. However, UNION BANK is now US BANK and many of the services that I enjoyed with UNION BANK is no longer offered at US BANK. For instance, I can withdraw money using ATMs in Japan but there is now both ATM fee and forign trasaction fee. And the amont of withdraw I can make US BANK is limited. Jaoan is staill a cash society and unable to withdraw my won money in Yen is very disterbing.

So, this morning I went US BANK Branch and asked them what they can do. Unfortunateky, they can offer nothing except they say we are US BANK and you are no longer with UNION BANK.

I decided to close my personal banking relationship with US BANK today. They may be good bank for people who does only do bnking in the US, but fpr people like me whio travel to Japan a lot. This bank offers not much benefit to me.

I has to say Good Bye to UNION BANK ... now I said Good Bye to US BANK.
