Today, there was the Akimatsuri (Fall Festival) at Bellevue College and PSPINC had the display like usual. I walked to bellevue College from my house. It took about 45 minuets and it was warming up.

Today, the temperature went up to 84F (or 29C). I enjoyed the walk but it was getting too warm.

You have been hearing about cloud computing for few years now and most of who’s who in the computer industries is providing the cloud computing platforms. Now, you are starting to hear about large corporations stating to move to cloud computing platforms to save money.

But you don’t really hear much about small companies moving to cloud yet. Main reason for that is simple. It is not easy to understand cloud and take advantage of the cloud. Simply, we do not know what the heck it is!

By moving to cloud, you do not have to:

(1) purchase server hardware.
(2) purchase server operating system.
(3) hire IT specialist to maintain your infrastructure.
(4) high speed Internet connectivity.

But in reality you need to hire specialists to select and setup cloud. That might be too expensive for small companies. The cost is prohibiting small companies to move to the cloud environment.

What we need is a solution design to run on the cloud platform. Cloud by itself is a shell and does not provide specific solutions. It is like a computer back in ‘80s. It can do many things so long as there is software for it. Cloud can do many things so long as there is software for it.

It is PSPINC’s mission to start investigate and deign and develop software that design to solve problem for small companies. We are now starting to spend R&D resource for cloud computing solutions.

We have no plan to create a cloud environment to compete with companies like:

It is a funny name for Web Hosting Company, isn't it?
Name of the company should reflect what the company do.

When we started our business back in 1987, we licensed PC software and localize them into Japanese Language and publish them in Japan. That was how our business started and that is why our name is Pacific Software Publishing, Inc.

Missing a Target

SPAM is one of the most used ways to market products and services. Nowadays, even SPAM is more targeted recognizing "Gender", "Age Group", "Race", "Income Demographics" and "Location". When those qualities are considered, can you really call it a SPAM.

But when the targeting is off, email marketing becomes very ineffective. For instance, this is an email I received today. It is a SPAM but it is targeted to female. I think they miss the mark on this one.

Okay, its a software, not a physical engine.
This is just a illustration symbolizing the power.

We are replacing the backend email broadcasting engine for NewsMAIL tomorrow. It is faster and much more stable than the current engine. As a matter of fact, it is the most powerful email broadcasting engine we have ever built.

This new engine development started in November last year and took almost 10 months to compete. One of the biggest projects of 2014 is now complete.
