What is the Role of a Manager?

When working on a project as an employee, your primary responsibility is to complete your tasks, communicate progress, and occasionally suggest small improvements. You report to the manager, keeping them informed about how things are going.

 

However, the role of a manager is different from that of the employees working on the project. As a manager, your job is not only to oversee progress and ensure smooth operations but also to identify ways to improve efficiency. Team members may provide suggestions to make tasks easier, faster, or more effective. Your responsibility is to evaluate these suggestions and determine their feasibility.

 

If a proposed improvement is practical and beneficial, it is your duty to communicate it to upper management, advocating for its implementation. Ultimately, a manager's role is to optimize processes and drive improvements that benefit both the company and its customers.
