Not on the menu!

Not on the menu!
If you are a restaurant owner and you wanted to sell something over the others, you will have a SPECIAL on the menu. And it is safe to assume everything that you have for sale is on the menu. If you don't put something on the menu, you will not likely to sell the item not on the menu.

But when it comes to Internet and Computer technologies, there are so many thing the company like us can do, that it is almost impossible to create a menu that contain everything that we can provide. But it is our job to do so. Even the simple things like, we can sell and repair computers, must be on our menu. We of cause do that, but it is not so clear to everyone outside.

Also, having what we can provide clearly define what we cannot provide. That is very important too.

* The picture is our Japanese Language Advertisement that we are currently running in Southern California explaining what we do. We do not sell hardware in California. We provide web Hosting and Web Developments.

Twitter in Japan
Twitter is getting very popular in Japan. I have opened the Twitter Japanese account. My Japanese Bloguru post is automatically updating the Japanese Twitter account.

Is Twitter good for your business?

I don't know. But it is better to do something than doing nothing.

Credit Card Declined

Credit Card Declined

I tried to use my credit card to purchase rather large item. However, the card was declined. I guess it is one of the security mechanism to protect the card company. However, it is well under my limit and was really annoying.

I have filed the patent last year to avoid this type of situations. I wish the card company has implemented the security measure.

Silent Release --- What is the point?

Silent Release --- What is the...
We have just released the upgraded version of our Web Hosting service. R&D Department worked really hard to get this out.

But when we released this new version, our Sales Department did nothing. No Press Release, No Customer Announcements, Not even mentioned in the newsletter that just went out. What a heck are they doing?

When I asked them, they said they didn't think about that. That is so stupid. No wonder our US sale is lagging behind our Japan sales.

Web Hosting Service Level Agreement

スレッド
Web Hosting Service Level Ag...
Following is an actual Service Level Agreement I took from one of the hosting companies' web site claiming 99.999% uptime guarantee.

99.999% Uptime Guarantee

The strength of our infrastructure and support systems makes it possible for _______________ to offer an industry-leading 99.999% Guaranteed Uptime policy, covering all Web sites hosted on our servers. Subject to the terms of the Guaranteed Uptime policy ('SLA'), a customer's Web site will be up and available at least 99.999% of the time in any given calendar month, or the customer will receive a credit towards their next month's hosting bill, according to the current Service Level Agreement.

Should _______________ not be able to provide services guaranteed by the current SLA, the following service credits will be issued:

* 1 or More Hours Downtime = 1 Day Credit
* 4 or More Hours Downtime = 1 Week Credit

Downtime is referred to as our network equipment being down. We do not possess control over the Internet, therefore we cannot guarantee that you will be able to access your site due to circumstances beyond our control. We guarantee that our network will be up and functioning 99.999% of the time per month.

In order to receive your credit you must do the following:
1) Document your web site downtime in writing.
2) Have your web site downtime verified by _______________.

Please send the request to: _______________.

To receive any credit, the service must be down for at least an hour. If the service is down for an hour, uptime is already 99.866%. And for that you will receive 1 day credit. That is 1/31 of the monthly payment.

Where in this SLA is saying 99.999% uptime? I am sorry, but is a BS. I took out the hosting company name from the contract. PSPINC is keeping more than 99.99% uptime. That is less 4 minuets down every month. At that rate, you will probably will never know we went down.

A cellular phone and a car

A cellular phone and a car
It is illegal to use a cellular when you are driving. I took this picture with my cellular phone. The lady in the black VW was driving very bad because she was putting her make up on. I can get a ticket for using my phone to take a photo while she will get a way with it because she was putting something around her eyes.

Size does matter!

Size does matter!
I believe in order to be creative and innovative, you need to be working tools that provide better working environment. That is why everyone at PSPINC Research & Development works with 23" or larger monitor. Many engineers have two monitors. I use Mac with 24" monitor.

I carry Small Windows Computer and an iPad. They enable me to write emails but that all they are good for. I need bigger monitor to do more creative things.

I wrote The Golf Club at Aldarra. That was my mistake. It is The Members Club at Aldarra. okay, I got it, Gene.

As for may car, I still have BMW 645ci. I am looking for a commuter car that will be used to drive between my house as the office with my dog. That is less than 5 miles one way. I will go check out Honda CRZ tomorrow at Lynnwood Honda if I have time.
