In September, Apple released iOS 18 with numerous exciting features. Soon after,
we reported the update broke
IMAP connections when using the default Apple Mail app, causing users to lose access to their email, primarily for users who rely on third-party email providers, like those with custom domains or using business email services. However, the issue doesn’t entirely spare personal accounts either.
Unfortunately, even months later, the problems persist and Apple still hasn’t made an official statement to address the IMAP connection problems. A quick fix for this issue is downloading and setting up an alternate mail client since it only seems to affect the Apple Mail app.

Apple typically follows up major updates with incremental patches to address bugs, but they haven’t released one to fix this particular problem. So, until they do, keep an eye on
Apple’s support pages and user forums for any official news on the issue.
