クリスマスの曲ではないのだが、この時季になるとよく聞こえてくる。
この歌を初めて聴いたのは娘がハイスクールにいた頃のことだと思う。いや、多分その前から耳にはしていたのだろうけれど、初めて「いいなぁ」と感じたのがその頃。
当時、娘には親友がいて、その彼とはもうだいぶん疎遠になってしまった。娘も彼もコーラス部やshow choir、ミュージカルをしていた。彼女のプロムの相手でもある。
わたしはこの曲が大好きになって、よく娘に「Bとあなたでこれを歌ったら最高なのに」と言っていた。
2、3年前だろうか、娘にそのことを話した。彼とはもう会うこともなくなっていたのだけれど、つい思い出して。
すると娘は笑いながら、「この歌詞、よーく聞いたことある？結構、セクシュアルなんだけど」と言った。「マミィがこの歌好きだっていうの、ちょっと意外だったよ」
えっ？？？
わたしの頭の中では、森の中にある家から、街までは遠くて、こんな寒い夜はもうここに泊まりなさいな、的な印象だった。しかも登場人物は森の熊さんとか、そういう動物の。
なんでそんなイメージで聴いていたのだろう。今となっては不思議だ。
最近ラジオで耳にするこの曲は、誰が歌っているのかわからないデュエットなのだが、確かにちょっとsexualである。曲の間にふふふふふ、なんて笑うところや、最後のセリフなんかも。
ま、今でも好きだけどね。
ちなみにコピペしたYouTubeのは別物。かわいいな、と思ったので。
