最初は英語だけを聞いて何を言っているのかを集中して聞いてみましょう。
そして２回目に、英文を見ながら聞くと耳と目で確認ができます！
１回の放送分は5分程度なので、そんなに時間もかけずにできるのもいいですね♪

ひとこと英会話。sweet on her
きょうのフレーズは、 sweet on/to/with him/her. 意味は、昨日のベラベラクラスでも出てきた「彼／彼女に夢中だ」、「好きだ」。
でもこの表現は、恋愛について限定です。
Using the word "sweet" in connection with male-female relations apparently comes from the fact that almost everybody likes sweets... so a sweetheart is someone you love. Being sweet on someone means to like or love them in a romantic sense.
a. She is so sweet on him she can't even see anybody else.
b. I'm not sweet on her! She's just a friend!
c. From the way you act you are really sweet on her.
ａ．彼女は彼にぞっこんで、彼以外の人は見えていない。
ｂ．彼女の事は別に好きじゃない。ただの友達だよ。
ｃ．その様子からするに君は彼女のことが本当に好きなんだね。

３月１４日のクラスのフィードバックでございます。
I'm glad that I could write up the feedback today!!
１４日の回では、boredとboring、excitedとexcitingなどの違いを練習しました。I was boring to watch TV.と言ってしまいそうですが、「ワタシ」はつまらない人ではないはずですので、I was bored to watch TV.でお願いします！
それではフレーズをご紹介します。

■Beginner Class■
・ Try, even though you fail. 失敗してもいいから、やりなさい。
・I got a lot of assignments. たくさん課題を出された。
・ I'm preparing for my company orientation. 入社式の準備をしている。
・ Married women keep working (as second nature) because they want to. 結婚しても仕事を（当たり前に）続けたいから続けている。
・ Year by year, more women keep working after marriage. 年々、結婚しても働き続ける女性が増えている。
・ I win the lottery. 宝くじが当たる。
・ I have a backache. / My back hurts. 腰が痛い。
・ I have stiff shoulders. / My shoulders are stiff. 肩こりです。
・ The concert/gig/performance was so exciting! ライブはすごく楽しかった。

・ In the survey, we got many opinions like "....." アンケートで...の意見が多かった。
・ In my company, rather not many women keep their jobs after they get married, but recently more women keep them. 私の会社では、結婚後も仕事を続ける女性はどちらかと言うと少ないかな、でも最近増えてきた。
・ I'm so happy when things go well/as planned. 思い通りに行くと、とてもうれしい。

・ I don't want to think I'm shy. 自分が恥ずかしがりやだと思いたくない。
・ He isn't appealing. / He doesn't appeal to me. 彼は目立たない（魅力がない）。

Do & Don't 〜英会話において〜
欧米人と日本人の会話において、いろいろなDo（積極的にやるべし！）とDon't（聞いちゃダメ！）があります。
Don't: Invasive questions!! Boooooo!!!!
Questions about:
- age
- weight
- boyfriend/girlfriend
- religion
◆Don't say a person's name and then make a joke in Japanese about them
聞いてはいけないこと：
-年齢
-体重
-彼氏／彼女の有無
-宗教
◆その人がいる前でその人の名前を言って、その内容を日本語で話す（しかも笑い話）、ということは自分の名前を言われているのは分かっても内容が分からない外国人にとっては非常に気分が悪いです。

- Talk about general topics (not personal topics)

◎聞いて大丈夫！
-その人の出身国について
-一般的な話（個人的な話ではなくて。スポーツとか、好きなものとか、芸能人とか）
5W1Hを使って会話の練習をたくさんしましょう！
これらDon'tであげたものは、すべて日本人がつい聞いてしまったりやってしまっていて、欧米人は嫌な気分になります。
でも考えてみると、こういうことって日本人同士で聞いたりやったりしますか？
普通に日本人同士で会話をしていたら、普通聞かないようなことを欧米人に聞く、というのは変な話です。
これから英会話をするときに、その質問を日本人にもするかどうか、を考えてから質問するといいですね☆

ひとこと英会話。ピンと来る・来ない
今日のフレーズは、That doesn't ring a bell.
意味は、思い当たらない、ピンと来ない。
This is a figurative way of saying that you have no memory of something; that you have no knowledge of it. In other wards, a bell doesn't ring in your brain.
a. I'm sorry. That name doesn't ring a bell.
b. Let me know if any of this rings a bell.
c. The sight of her rang a bell in my mind.
a.ごめんなさい。その名前に心当たりはありません。

Berabera Class Report
いよいよ３月になりました。いろいろな目標に向かってラストスパートです！
７日のベラベラクラスでは、買物に関するフレーズをたくさん習ったようで、使えそう♪役立つ！という意見をたくさんいただきました♪
"holic"は中毒なので、shopaholicになっちゃダメですよ。借金地獄になります！
では今週のフレーズです☆

■Beginner Class■
・ I started training my replacement yesterday but it was harder than I thought.
昨日から仕事の引き継ぎを始めたのですが、思った以上に大変。
・If so, many women are possibly shopaholic.
（Shopaholicはただの買物好きの人を意味するのか？）その程度だったら多くの女性はshopaholic（買物中毒）かもしれない。
・ I'll say "yes" depending on my feeling at that time.
そのときの気分によってはyes.
・ The facilities are becoming older as time goes by. / The facilities are degenerating as time goes by.
設備は時間とともに老朽化してくる。
・ They maintain the equipment.
機能を維持するために更新する工事をしています。→設備機能を維持しています。
・ My company isn't affected directly so much by bad economy.
当社は経済恐慌の影響はそれほど直接的には受けていない。

ガソリンが残り少なくなったら、ランプが点灯して教えてくれる。
・ I use my credit card when shopping. Because I can save points on the card.
買物はだいたいクレジットカードを使います。なぜならポイントが貯まるから。
・ Salespeople come to my house insistently so I strongly say no when they come.
家にしつこくセールスマンが来る。だから強く断ることにしている。

今日の英語は、sell like hotcakes.
意味は、飛ぶように売れる。
The popularity of hotcakes results in them selling exceptionally well, giving rise to "selling like hotcakes" being used in reference to any item that sells especially well.
a. Just before Christmas toys for children sell like hotcakes.
b. The new electronic device began selling like hotcakes the day it appeared on the market.
c. The new item sold like hotcakes for a few days, and then died.

お待たせしました！前回のベラベラクラスでは、桜の話をされたんでしょうか？もうすぐ桜の季節ですもんねー、たのしみです♪
花粉症の人には辛い季節ですが。。
会話している最中に文法的に大きな間違いがあったらDebbieはすぐに訂正します。でも全ての間違いを指摘して行ってしまうと会話が成り立たなくなるので、小さい間違いはあまり訂正をしません。日本語でもちいさな間違いをすることありますよね。それと同じでnative speakerも間違った英語で会話をしたりしています。
あまり間違いに気を使いすぎないで、会話を楽しんで下さいね。

◆Beginner Class◆
・ Cherry blossom and samurai have a short period of beauty "momentary" in common. So they're attractive to Japanese people because they're matching with Japanese sense of beauty.
桜とサムライの共通点は、美しく咲く期間は短く「はかない」ことで、それが日本人の美意識と合っているから魅力に感じる。
・ Japanese plum blossom can be smelled in a broad area.
梅の花は広い範囲で香る。
・ The color of cherry flower is light.
花の色が桜は薄い。
・ I think cherry blossom and samurai are similar because they are both momentary.
桜と侍は、命がはかないところが似ていると思う。
・ Cherry blossom front means the forecast of blossoming. Japan is a long shaped country so days of blossoming are different in each area. I check the cherry blossom front by TV and then decide the day of Hanami party.
桜前線とは、桜の開花予報のことです。日本は細長いので桜が咲く日がちがいます。テレビで桜前線をチェックして花見の日にちを決めます。

・ I feel guilty.
私ってサイテーだわ（悪いことしたな、と思う）。（自己嫌悪で）

一時的にガソリンの値が上下しているだけです。

昔は会社で花見に行っていたようだが、最近は行かなくなりました。
・Business entertainment is a unique habit of Japanese companies.
接待は日本特有の習慣です。
・ Someone I don't know helped my dog and he (she) brought it to home.
私の犬を、知らない人が助けてくれて家に届けてくれました。
・ He probably is going to go abroad by himself because his girlfriend looks sad.
彼はおそらく単身で海外に行くでしょう。なぜなら彼女はさみしそう。。。
・ I was impressed by her speech.
私は彼女の発言に影響を受けた。

意味は、頭の切れる人、抜け目のない人。
Someone who is very intelligent and very quick mentally is often referred to as being "a sharp cookie", probably because cookies are especially tasty and "hit the spot."
- a. Everyone in that software company is a sharp cookie.
- b. That girl is determined to marry a sharp cookie.
- c. To get into that company you have to be a sharp cookie and aggressive!
