2013 Summer Experience Sponsors & Hosts

スレッド
2013 Summer Experience Spon...
During their time in Seattle, the PSP Children's Foundation Summer Experience students enjoyed lessons from Bellevue Children's Academy's teachers and were able to visit downtown Seattle and the University of Washington, see a Mariners game and tour Safeco Field, hike Mount Rainier and tour Microsoft's Redmond campus and Google's Kirkland offices. Throughout their visit they had several meals provided by sponsors, including Maruta Shoten, Miyabi Sushi, I Love Sushi on Lake Bellevue, Uwajimaya and Union Bank. Their transportation to and from many activities was conducted by Puget Sound Coachlines.

Finally, we also need to acknowledge the host families. They contribute so much by giving their time and opening up their homes to the students, and the Summer Experience program simply would not happen without them. Their gifts are more than simply monetary, as they form new friendships and lasting bonds with the students and PSPCF cannot thank them enough for their assistance each year.

It has been a very busy couple of weeks here at PSPINC, but we're proud of the program and all the people who worked so hard to make it run smoothly and ensure that it happened in the first place. The PSPCF Summer Experience is only possible with the aid of our volunteers, sponsors and host families. Thank you for all of your contributions to this year's program, and we hope we may count on your continued assistance as we continue in our mission to provide hope to children affected by disaster.

To find out how you can contribute to the 2014 Summer Experience, please visit PSPCF's website and Like us on Facebook for updates.

Summer Experience Day 13 -- Farewell

Summer Experience Day 13 --...
Yesterday morning, the PSP Children's Foundation Summer Experience participants gathered one last time at Bellevue Children's Academy. They bid farewell to their host families and the teachers they had come to know over the last two weeks, loaded into a Puget Sound Coachlines van and began the long trip back to their homes in Japan. It was a bittersweet parting of the ways, but a fitting end to a great two weeks spent getting to know everyone and seeing what all Seattle has to offer.

Summer Experience Day 12

Monday was the last day of activities for the PSP Children's Foundation's Summer Experience. The group visited two iconic tech companies with offices in the Northwest--Microsoft in Redmond and Google in Kirkland. Both companies hosted tours that showed our visitors what it's like to work at a major American tech company as well as other fun bits along the way. The group also had lunch at the Google cafeteria and an opportunity to shop at the Microsoft company store.

Both Microsoft and Google also contributed souvenir tee shirts that were proudly on display at the farewell reception held at PSPINC's office in Bellevue.

This morning, the group of students and teachers will begin the long trip back to Japan. We hope they leave with great new memories, hope for the future, and new friendships they've made along the way.

Yesterday, the PSPCF Summer Experience group trekked to Burger King to sample American fast food as a treat for all their hard work spent on their studies this week. The novelty of the trip was enjoyed by all, students and teachers alike.
