OVERNIGHT AT HARTFORD CONNECTICUT AIRPORT

Here I am, still in Hartford, Connecticut. It’s 4:30am and the concourse is bustling with activity. My flight was scheduled for yesterday @ 5pm. We boarded three times over a seven hour period. They never cancelled the trip and we are scheduled to leave for Chicago @ 11am this morning. By the time I got in line to rebook my connecting flight, all the hotel vouchers were gone. So here I am trying to sleep on one of the airport’s chair/sidestand.
The amazing part is the calmness of the almost 200 passengers as many rebooked and made their various changes. The waiting line conversations were all up beat and there was no rancor or loud discussions.
I spent more time with Katy, who works for a Museum in Minnesota, and has a birthday today. We all sang happy birthday and celebrated at the Juice Bar. Frank, who has a farm in Idaho and is developing an Art evaluation/collection computerized program bought me breakfast. I’m impressed with all the connecting and learning environments.
The flight crew has arrived and we are about to reboard for flight UA1846 to Chicago for the 4th time!
