We are starting to overhaul MegaMail (secure Large File Transfer System) now.
Back in September 2004, we have published the system enabling people to send large file using Internet and our datacenter. It was a hit and we kept it un until 2013. Since then, we have not done mony update due to the fact there are other services like DropBox.
However recently, we are asked many times by our customers to update our MegaMail service to current. So, we have decided to overhaul MegaMail system. Our target update and release date is May 1, 2020.

Be Loud?
In many ways we are taught and trained to be quiet. We do not like people who talk a lot and who are loud. I remember seeing the commercial - “When E.F. Hutton talks, people listen.” That is because he was known to speak the truth and to not speak very often.
However, talking loud and a lot has become the norm lately. From the President to corporate CEOs, people must speak out or they are not remembered. I do not care too much about that, but unfortunately in order to be heard, you have to speak out loud and often. I guess there is no shame in that any more.
I suppose I am trying my best to speak louder using this newsletter, but I hope it isn’t too much. You need to speak clear, loud and often ... but you need to make sure you make sense. I still hate people talking too much, it is such a turn off. I hope I am not doing that.

This website has no purpose ... or does it? When I lost my dog, Pompom, two years ago, I created a website to send message to him in Heaven. I made it as a pet project to learn PHP 7. I didn’t really need to learn PHP but I had a purpose. That purpose was to build that website.
I wanted to create a website that was designed for me to write anything I wanted and to post it nowhere. I can write anything without worrying about anyone seeing it except myself and Pompom in heaven. The source code has no functionality to save any messages you write. In addition, I purchased an SSL certificate to make sure your communication is also protected.
I did not make this site to make money. I just wanted to feel that Pompom is still with me. You are free to use this site and write anything you want. I assure you that I have no idea what you have written.
Just in case you would like to know, there is a site post counter that goes up by one when something is written. Currently there are more than 12,500 posts and that is not all me.

世の中には何の意味もないサイトが存在します。これはわたしが作ったそんなサイトのお話です。
2年前にわたしは愛犬のポンポンくんを天国に送り出しました。ペットをお持ちの方ならそれがどれだけ辛いかお分かりいただけると思います。そこでわたしは天国にいるポンポンくんにメッセージを送るサイトを作りました。
このサイトでは、誰でも自由に好きなことを書いて送信することができます。でもそれらの言葉はどこにも保存されないのです。そう、書いた文字は送信した時点で天国に送り出され痕跡はまったく残らないのです。そしてサイト自体も SSL を購入して暗号化通信をしています。
まったく意味のないサイト・・・でもここにメッセージを書くとなぜか少しだけホッとします。
皆さんもぜひこのサイトを使ってみてください。たまには収益を考えていないサイトのお話をしてもいいかと思いました。ちなみにこのサイト、2年前の開設から12,500回以上使われています。それが全部わたしでないことは事実です。

I went to Fry's for the first time in few years ... I saw almost no merchandise and only few customers. The cafe in the middle of store has no lights on. I check the internet ... they are not announcing any store closing nor plan to go out of business.
This Is really strange. I wonder what is going on. It will be soon the sore and company will go under.

Japan - Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution
As of today, US Government increase the Travel Advisory from Level 1 to Level 2 out of 4 levels. If you are planning to travel to Japan, please read the advisory at US State Department web page below.

Can you use the Internet to back up data?
Internet service is getting faster and cheaper ... but is it now fast and affordable enough to be used as your primary backup system? Backing up files to a USB external drive is different. By using USB 2.0, you can transfer files up to 480 Mbps - I will explain.
Transfer speed is measured in Mbps (Megabits per second). Using a 1 Mbps connection, you can send 125 kilobytes every second. This is not fast enough to receive streaming video in standard resolution. To receive HD (1080p) video streaming, you should have a 20 Mbps connection.
One 2 hour / 1 GB movie uploaded using a 5 Mbps broadband connection can take about 20 minutes or 1.5 hours with 1 Mbps speed. Given that a terabyte has 1,048,576 megabytes, if you could achieve the theoretical 60 Mbps transfer, you could do it in slightly over 4 hours and 45 minutes.
I am designing a system that allows people to back up a huge amount of data for safe storage. The key to this is speed and ease-of-use. The first step is to create a testing method for the file transfer rate. It is a challenging but interesting problem to solve.

When I design software and services, I want to make sure we can do as much as we can to free up your time but I always remember who is ultimately in charge. We try to make sure you make no mistakes but that you are free to try out anything. At the same time, when you become stuck, our customer support, and entire company for that matter, is behind you to help you get unstuck from any situation.

This is the form that I was asked to wrote.
I am back in Seattle now.
I flew out of Seoul to Tokyo then Tokyo to Seattle today.
I was asked in the plane from Tokyo to Seattle to fit out the form above.
I guess if there is anyone on the plane who is sick, they can contact all passengers.
There are few things that I was surprised
(1) No strong garlic smell any where.
(2) Compared to people in Japan, people are more active.
(3) They take care of elders ... nobody sites on handicap chairs on the trails.
(4) People drive fast and crazy here.
(5) Things are cheaper.
(6) A lot of Japanese tourists here (despite Coronavirus and conflict between two countries)
(7) I still can negotiate price here. I bought dawn jacke at less than 1/2 the original price. But I still I felt I paid too much.
I wish I could do more business here.
It was a nice meal for w12,000 (about US$11) ... it was nit too heavy.
I am sure I gained weight in Japan. I need to start cutting back.
Unfortunately, I will be flying almost all day tomorrow.

Play in the Steering System
When you sit in your car and wiggle the steering wheel, there are a few degrees of movement that do not affect the direction of the wheels. This is called "Play". Without this, your car will react to every movement and send too much information from your wheel to your steering wheel. Thus, the car will be very difficult or sensitive to drive.
I believe the same thing applies to your business. You can try to control everything, which will make your management style very strict and sensitive. People need some amount of "Play" in their work. Though, as with your car, too much and things will easily become uncontrollable. There is a need for some "Play" but not too much.
As a Manager, you need to know how much "Play" you wish to have as it pertains to your management style. Never allow too much "Play" in your steering, it's all about having the right amount. Do you agree?

Did you know that you can set up or own Channel using YouTube?
We've all seen many different TV shows. Creating your own YouTube Channel is similar to making your own TV show for your business, and is an easy pathway to guide your viewers/customers to your Channel. Viewers are able "Follow" your Channel, and once they do, they will receive notification that there's a new video to the Channel.
Here is a step-by-step instruction on how to open your YouTube Channel.
Login to YouTube by using your Gmail account.
If on a PC, click on "MyChannel" on the left side navigation. If on YouTube app, click on your avatar on the top right, and select "MyChannel" from the dropdown menu.
Select "Customize Channel" to open your YouTube Channel. *Creator Studio is a great tool where you can manage your videos, add sound, see viewer analytics, broadcast live stream video, etc.
Update your banner image, and add Channel details from "About".
Once you have 100 followers, you will be able to create a unique URL for your Channel, and be able to better brand your Channel. After you create your Channel, make sure to let your co-worker/friends know and ask to follow. It will be the first step to becoming a YouTuber!

I have seen few in the US. Koran is a branch office of an police department. I this it makes a great sense to station police personnel near people.
It is nit that attracting to me go go out at night in Tokyo. I am getting old for sure but my taste has changed as well. I am more into healthier things. I used be a night person but now I am more an early morning person.
I was at Otsuka Solution Fair in Tokyo.
They told me that the entry was down a little compared top last year due to the Coronavirus. But I did not see any slow down. They are passing out face masks.
I arrived in Tokyo three nights ago.
To day is my last full day in Tokyo.

Why Do Business Owners Work Such Long Hours?
It is not uncommon for business owners to work long hours. In my case, I easily work 12 hours a day and 7 days a week. I work a little less on the weekend but I am usually at my office 7 days a week.
Why?
That is because as a business owner I feel I need to be at work all of the time. Do I need to be at work that often … maybe not. Though I want to make sure everything is fine all of the time and I feel like I need to keep my eyes on it. So I feel relaxed at work knowing that I can see and feel everything.
Some people feel relaxed taking vacation and not thinking about work. For many business owners, at work is where one feels relaxed. So, the best way to make a business owner relax is to communicate better about what is going on in the office. At least that will make me feel better.

I had few great meetings today. One in particular gave me an idea how to promote our services. It was a warm day but i hear it will start get cold tomorrow.
I have arrived in Tokyo last night.
I was really tired and sleep for a long time.
JAL was great. Everyone was wearing mask.

In Japan, 卍 is a symbol used on the map for Buddhist Temples. It was in use way before it was made famous by Nazi Germany. It means Love and prosperity. So if you see this symbol in Japan, do not be offended.
But, too make it simpler to understand, symbols used on the maps are changing.
This is a last day for one J-Visa trainee from Japan.
He was new 18 months ago, now he is one of the best network and server team member.
We will miss him.

DOW is almost down 2% just today.
