In an attempt to prevent and block spammers we are implementing the 2nd phase of our email security update. Spam is when hackers gain access to an account and then send emails through that account. If 200 emails are sent from an email address within 1 hour that email address will be blocked from sending mail for 60 minutes, you will still be able to receive mail. After 1 hour if the email address is still sending out spam AND we think that you’ve been compromised – we will manually reset your password. If you send mass emails or have online forms with your SMTP account, you may trigger the security update, which will block your emails. Dear Reader,
This is volume 2 of my newsletter. I am starting to plan my schedule for 2019, the first thing on my 2019 agenda will be my trip to Japan starting on January 14. I usually go to Japan to visit our partner’s trade show in Tokyo but I will leave that duty to others from Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. I can visit the fair but I would be no help in promoting our products and service. I just scare people away.
I travel to Japan 4 to 5 time every year and it should get old but I always find something new in Japan. It might be the culture and atmosphere that is so different from the US. This time my mission is to find new business opportunities in Japan. That goes both ways. I would like to find a partner who can represent us in the products that we currently do not sell in Japan. Also, I would like to find a product or service that we or someone I know can represent in the US.
Since I'm taking up your time I should write about something useful. I am in the Internet business, I should talk about something about the Internet. Let’s talk about your domain. Did you know domain names used to be free? You could register any domain (if available) you wanted for free. That led to people registering copyrighted names as domains and selling those domains back to the copyright owners. Another practice was to register common domain names and sell them to the highest bidders. The most expensive domain name ever sold was INSURE.COM and it was sold in 2009 for 16 million dollars. The second most expensive domain name was SEX.COM and was sold in 2006 for 13 million dollars. Someone made a whole lot of money.
When you shop, do you go to physical shops or shop online? More and more people are shopping online. Here is a term you should know about online sales - B2B, B2C, and P2P. B stands for Business, C stands for Consumer and P stands for Person. When you sell products, if you are a business selling products to other businesses, it is called B2B. If a business is selling to consumers, it is called B2C. If a seller is an individual (not a business) selling to other individuals, it is called P2P. When you want to sell products, you need to know if you are B2B, B2C or P2P. Even if you are not selling anything online, you really need to clearly know what your business model is. It will reflect how the website is designed and how and where you promote your website.

I started Pacific Software Publishing, Inc. in 1987 when I was only 28. That's over 30 years ago. I started exporting English PC software packages to Japan from my apartment. That was my first venture. Then I moved on to software licensing and localization. We created Japanese versions of many software for sale in Japan. This licensing, localization. and publishing replaced our English PC Software package export and became our second venture. This venture was replaced by Internet Domain/Web/Email hosting and Internet Web development in 1996. For the last 12 years, I have been building the company on the Internet business.
Our Japanese business has been blessed with wonderful business partners and friends for the last 30 years. Partners and friends include Softbank, Software International, Software Japan, IDG, BCN, TEC, HITACH, Ascii, Nikkei BP, AX Conferences, Vega, NEC, Mitsubishi PC, Otsuka Corporation, Kokuyo, and Saishunkan just to name a few. Our business model has been to build a business together with our partners. For that reason, we are always looking for new business opportunities with existing and new partners and friends. We are not here to sell you anything. We are here to start and build a business together.

Some of the people may not remember me, but I have you on my address book.
Welcome to the first edition of the Uchikura Newsletter. I intend to send out this newsletter on a regular basis and hope it helps inform, inspire, and potentially even make you laugh.
I founded PSPinc over 30 years ago from my apartment building on Mercer Island. PSPinc has grown into a full-service web hosting and design company headquartered in Bellevue.
Previously I had my own newsletter which I sent out every Monday and Thursday as "Weather Report Newsletter" for 10 years , I wrote my 1,000th newsletter on December 24th, 2007. I stopped once our blogging platform, Bloguru , was launched in 2007 but I'm starting one back up again!
