Tonight will be a full moon called the Flower Moon, and also a total lunar eclipse.

The name "Flower Moon" is derived from the name given by the North American Indians.
It’s fitting name due to the fact that many flowers bloom at the same time during this season.

The total eclipse, in which the moon will be completely covered by the shadow of the earth where we live, will begin at 12:29 p.m. and last until 1:54 p.m. Japan time. Unfortunately, they will not be able to see this celestial show in Japan during the daytime hours, as it will be obscured by the sun's rays.

In the U.S., it will be from 9:29 p.m. to 10:54 p.m. this evening, which is the best time to observe it.

However, with rain clouds completely covering the Seattle area now, it is unlikely that the weather will continue this evening. I resent the rain clouds.

Because of the full moon, the tides are high and the rocks, which are usually covered by seawater, are still visible today.
Today, even the root of the rocks are visible.

So the mudflats, which are usually only a few dozen meters long, extended more than 100 meters on today.

By the way, there are still some people who really believe that the earth is flat.
How do they explain these full moons, lunar eclipses, and tides?

The gravitational pull of the moon causes the seawater covering the earth to rise and fall repeatedly.
If the earth was flat, shouldn't there theoretically be no tides?
