Pompom is recovering from his chemotherapy. He slept very well. Tiny and Nano are with us starting last night. Pompom cough / congestion is little better with his medication. I just want Tiny and Pompom to stay healthy. Nano too, but she is still young.
The idea is to make Pompom more comfortable by adding more moisture in the air. I bought an Aromatherapy Diffusers from Amazon ... It came today. Aroma bottles are not delivered today. I hope this will help Pompom breath better.
How can a company offer life time warranty on their products. It is great sales point and I really like the brand. I used to buy TUMI ... but now I am buying Timbuk2 a lot more often.
I used the web site to order Jimmy John's sandwich ... It was easy and the site is well designed. I learned a lot. I would like to offer online ordering as one of the parts of PSPinc's web development package.
My gut feeling is that web sites are moving more from the horizontal broad use to vertical specific function use. Online sales including online ordering will be a big part of that movement.
Pompom's coughing problem is due to the "Tracheal Collapse". It has a lot to do with the weight gain and I think we should try to have him loose weight. I will try this. He is whining a battle with lymphoma, I will not loose him for "Tracheal Collapse".
I will buy INVOKE at Microsoft Store for $99.95 (it wa $199.95). It is made by Harman Kardon. I don't really care about the intelligent part, I am just looking at cost performance.
Pompom coughed and woke up only twice last night. He does not like the taste of cough medication so he does not take it. Only if he understands what I am trying to do. I only want to make him comfortable.
Other than Pompom's occasional coughs, there is no sign of lymph nodes getting enlarged. That is a good sign. Next chemo is scheduled for Monday. It is one in two weeks now.
For Pompom's cough, I ordered small humidifier ... I hope this will help him breath better. Tiny and Pompom are sleeping comfortably next to me. They make me sleepy too. Nano does not like to stay with me. Not week, Mayumi is going to travel to California, so Tiny and Nano will be staying with me.
You know Amazon Echo and Google Home ... They are an intelligent personal assistant developed by Amazon and Google. But not may people know Microsoft made one too with their AI engine called Cortina.
Well, the hardware is made by Harman so it is one of the best. You should get it even just as a speaker.

As I get older, I realize my time is limited. I am not invincible as once I thought I was. We do not have very much time here. Even if you live to be 90, that is less than 33,000 days. I do realize now everyone I know and love will pass including myself. I just was not ready to see my daughter go before I do. I regret everyday the things I did not do with Anna.
7 years ... time passes so fast. Everyone gets older every day. But my daughter will be 17 forever. At least I don't have to worry about her dating.
Pompom woke up couple of times middle of the night coughing. I will chicken the net to see what I can do for him. Other than that his cancer is under control. This is the first week of not having chemotherapy every week. I am keep eyes on his lymph nodes.
I took this picture last night when I left office. I and Pompom are almost always the last one to leave. It was not a full moon but it was bright.

Today marks his 10th week since the start of chemotherapy. That is amazing accomplishment considering how bad his lymph nodes were back then. He is still gagging and coughing sometime but he does no breath hard any more. I am so happy that he spends more time with Tiny.
We will be releasing later this year a new version of out mail-server software. This will replace all Dreamersi customers to a brand new email engine.

We finished weekly chemotherapy last week and we are starting biweekly treatment. So we are skipping this week. May be because of the cold weather and dryness, Pompom seems to be gagging more often. That worries me. But I am happy that he is still with us. I hope we can keep him this way.
I got a compostable shopping bag at Trader Joe's today. I don't really know what it does, so I try to put it into a bowl of hot water to see if it dissolves. Well, it did not dissolve. I guess composting is different from dissolving.
Pompom does not eat very much. He tries to eat but he drops his food out of his mouth. It worries me. But he does seem to eat certain things. His taste has changed a bit. Is it caused by the chemo ... I do not know. Pompom does not say anything.
Things are not going well for me!

Why are things keep happening to me?
You may want to blame on people around you, but it might be you bring all negative things to yourself. If you think negatively, negative things will happen t you. I really believe that. So, try to be more positive. Start your conversation with "Yes".
Pompom is recovering from chemo nicely. I am feeling confident that nothing will happen while I will be on business trip to Japan from February 5 to 15. He will have one more chemo before I go and he will have another right after I come back. We will keep our eyes on his lymph nodes to make sure nothing is growing.
The City of Bellevue must have spent thousands of dollars bring in the fiber lines and isntanlde WiFi at Bellevue Highland Park. It worked for one day and went down. What waste of money! The city should have contracted the company to run it. The goal of the city is to bring Internet to the park ... not minting it. It is just very stupid.
Pompom slept well last night. I think his appetite is not as much and he is starting to loose weight. Do not worry, he gained almost 3 pounds in last 4 months. I think he is getting back to his normal size. As he loose weight, his breathing is getting better.
Mayumi went on a day business trip to Spokane, I am with Tiny and Nano today. Nano is 10 years old as well. I just hope all three dogs to be healthy.
We have several hundred servers at our data center serving companies with Domain, Web and Email. We need to make sure those servers are running fast. To ensure that, we are monitoring our servers and services 24 hours a day.
We have people 24 hours a day, but we have build the software to monitor both hardware and software. It is called Sitemonster. We made this software because when we started the hosting business, there were no system or software to monitor servers and services.

I really had negative feeling about chemotherapy, but I have change my mind about it as far as Pompom is concern. Considering how bad his lymphoma was, it is remarkable that he is still here.

9 weeks (63 days) has passed since Pompom started his chemotherapy to treat his lymphoma. His lymph nodes were as big as three golf balls and where very hard. After the second chemo, his lymph nodes started to soften, heated up and shrink. Currently his lymph nodes are at the normal size and I cannot tell where they are.
I do not know how long we can keep his lymphoma under control but I am very happy to have him around for nine weeks. There was an option of putting Pompom to sleep nine weeks ago. I just hope he continue to fight his cancer and stay with us as long as possible.

Pompom completed his last weekly chemotherapy today. According to the doctor, Pompom's lymph nodes are normal and his blood work is fine. Now we are starting his biweekly chemo. Next appointment is on January 29.
He has survived the critical stage of his treatment. Thank you all for your support. He is with us.
Pompom is about 14.0lbs ... That is about the weight at the begging of 2017. He went as high as 15.6lbs. That was caused by the steroids he wa staking before the chemotherapy. He will have one more weekly chemo tomorrow.
I saw hundreds of birds heading south today. Pompom is doing as well as we expected. He still gags and chokes but other than that he is fine. I think he has been spoiled so much by me that he barks when I am not around. That is not good.
Since new presidency begun about a year ago, stock market is shooting up like a rocket. The only time I saw stock market move like this was back in 2008 and was going down.
Some may argue that stock market move does not effect average people and only benefit rich. Fist of all, stock market indicates the overall health of corporate America (public corporations). That means, public corporations are valued at least 20% more than a year ago. If that does not translate to the number of jobs and capital investments, there is something wrong.
Okay, if you do not like Trump, you should at least give credit to the companies making this stock price possible. If you do not want corporations to make money and you want government to keep all the money, well, I think I cannot help you.
Because of the tax cut, your income should be higher ... may only be a little but your income is higher. If you are unemployed, you have little better chance of getting hired. I must say it has been a good your for America and American people. Emotionally, people who do not like Trump, it is a bad year. But your pocket is little ticker.
Now I am afraid when this will all crush ... It will happen soon or later. Then we build it back up again.
When I saw this commercial for the first time, I thought it was a joke. But now I heard it became one of the best selling products. Power of marketing or necessity?
I just noticed that the park I walk every morning now has WiFi setup. Few people worked for 3 ~ 4 weeks putting fiber cables and antennas. It sounds great but most people already have cellular phones with data capabilities. I wonder how much city spend on this project? Have they thought about how many people will be using this WiFi?
It is just a waste of money. But then again it is only taxpayers' money. And having WiFi at the city parks sounds really cool. If my office or house is close enough to a park with WiFi ... I will cancel my Internet service and hitch a ride on this WiFi.
Rain has stopped just in time for our morning walk. After once around the baseball field at the part, Pompom did not want to go any more. After the walk, he went to his bed in the office and sleeping. He might be tired today. Tiny also waled one around the baseball field at the park. He is also sleeping in his bed in my room. They make me sleepy as well.
Pompom's next treatment is next Monday at 10:30am ... That is kind of late morning compared to the other times. That will be his last weekly treatment.
I had two this morning in my car after the morning walk.
Tiny is 15 and half and Pompom is 15 fighting Lymphoma.
They are getting older ... Sometime I think about how they played together.
They are very close.

I was watching some of the old videos of Pompom. Compare to those days, Pompom is much slower but he is very active for his age. If someone is looking at him today, nobody can guess he is fighting lymphoma. I am so happy to have him healthy for now.
Day 56 ... That means it has been 8 weeks since Pompom started his chemotherapy. He still coughs and gags sometime but we do not know if those are related to lymphoma. According to his doctor, his lymph nodes are normal.
By just looking at him, nobody can tell he is sick. I sometime forget he is sick too. That is a good thing. I hope he will keep his health. I am not ready ... I guess I will never be ready.
Pompom is recovering from the chemo treatment on Saturday morning. He is doing vowel well this time. I cannot really tell how he reacts to chemo. There is no swell by cancer on his lymph nodes. That is a great sign. Sometime because Pompom is doing so well, you forget he is fighting a cancer.
I have a business trip coming up on February. I really hope Pompom keeps his health while I am gone.

Pompom is recovering from chemo today. He is doing little better than he had been before. I have noticed Pompom has less gray hair ... His hair is very soft and black. Is that a side effect of chemo?
“Money cannot buy you happiness, but the lack of it can certainly make you progressively miserable.” So starts an article in the Huffington Post concerning research by the Nobel Prize in Economic winner Daniel Kahneman. I happen to agree with this. In my experience, there is a level of income, depending on your age, location and responsibilities, below which life becomes a struggle, where insecurity and worry become issues. Above that threshold, happiness is up to you.
The critical threshold? In the US it appears to be about $80,000 per year. Statistically, the further below this threshold someone earns, the more miserable they get.
Pompom finished his 7th weekly chemotherapy. I thought it was the 8th, but I guess the first one does not count. Today's chemo is something Pompom gets sick usually. I will wait and see how it goes.
My daughter went back to NY last night and will be back this summer. I want to make sure my daughter will see Pompom again. I will do my best to treat Pompom.
After a morning walk, he got wet this morning.
"Nothing is friendlier than a wet dog."
Pompom will have his last weekly chemo tomorrow morning. After tomorrow, it will be every two weeks for 8 times.
My daughter is going back to NYC tonight. I think she will be back this summer. I really hope she will be able to see Pompom again. That will be amazing. We will do out best to make Pompom stay well and comfortable.
This is day 51 since the start of the treatment.
He is doing as good as he can be.
He sleeps almost all day but that is coming from his age.
Other than occasional gagging and coughing, there is no sign of cancer.
I am very happy that my daughter was able to meet Pompom this holiday.
Tiny and Nano went to the checkup today with Mayumi.
She told me doctor asked Tiny to gain a pound and Nano loose a pound.
Both of them are healthy. I am very happy to hear that too.
This is a day 50 from Pompom's first chemotherapy. It is a milestone.
Pompom sometimes gags/chokes but other wise he is doing well. This gaging is not really related to the lymphoma he is fighting. Small dogs gets their windpipe narrowed as they age. There is no treatment for it except there is a treatment to put mesh in the windpipe but it is not proven 100% safe and effective.

It has been 7 weeks since we started chemotherapy on Pompom. Although, he sometimes gags, he is doing a lot better than 7 weeks ago. Yes, he has made it to 2018.

This is a Year of The Dog ... And we started this year with this dog story.
I hear RING (Motion Sensor Door Bell) rang this morning and I found a tis lovely "Goldendoodle" outside of my house. I went and called "Come Here" ... He came. There was no dog collar so I decided to take him to Seattle Humane near my house.
There were people there and they scan for a microchip and found one. We were able to contact the owner and they came right away. So we were able unite the lost dog with the owner this morning.
This is a great story for a year of the dog, isn't it. He runaway from home last night about 11:00pm due to the fireworks. So he was lost for about 12 hours. For a while, I will have another dog. But this is a better end to the story.

I do not know how long Pompom can be healthy but I am happy to report he is doing well. Thank you for all for your kind words. He is here!
