There are many Japanese cars that is not avaiable in the rest of the world, specially in the US. If you wanted to imprt them to the US, you are not allowed to do so unless car is over 25 years old.

Cha / Ocha / Tea / 茶

All teas came from China.
茶 is the kanji word for "Cha" or Tea.
If you want a tea, you say "Ocha o Kudasai."

Water is 水 mizu.
If you want a whter, you can say "Omizu o Kudasai."

What is O before Cha and Mizu?
By having O, you are more polite.

You never say "Cha o Kudasai."
Although, you can say "Mizu o Kudasai."

Eating in a Rail Car

You shpuld not refrain from eating on the local trains. But when it comes to long distance train, you are allowed to eat at your seat. The rule of thumb is that if there is a table, you can eat your bento. If there is no atble, look around and see aif anyone is eating.

Privately Owned Taxi Cabs in Japan

Private Cabs have Better Cars.
Some of you already know there is no UBER or Lyft in Japan. All taxi cabs are licsed and issued a green licenseplate. Any taxi operating without taxi cabs license are called Shiro-Taku (White Taxi). It does not mean the car are white, but the lucence plates have white backgroung.

I usually choose white clolored taxi cabs. Because they are operated by individiuals not taxi companies. The cars are newer, cleaner and better service. Next time when you look for taxi, try white cabs. The prices are the same, so why not ry the better cabs.

Lunch at Golf Course

In Japan, when you ply golf, you take a lunch break after 9 holes. I ordered seafood ramen today. Even thought it was at the golf course, it tasted better and cheaper than the one in the US.

Although they announce there is a I termed service on the train, unless you already have an account with one or more providers, there is no internet connection on the train. They should stop misleading announcement.
